A caped gown is one thing, but a red wedding dress with cape? That's on a whole other level! And it isn't just the fantastic gown that made Hollie & George's wedding so special. The Christmas-inspired theme, foraged woodland foliage decorations, and the DIYed red dried flowers, table plan and order of service all helped too. The Christmas theme was certainly apt - especially considering the bride's name is Hollie! Talk about a Christmas miracle. The reception was held in their parents' garden, making the entire day even more personable. If you're a fan of Christmas colours, bold dresses, and homely vibes, then continue scrolling, dear reader! This one's for you.
Many things made our day unique. Friends and family came together to help decorate the church and marquee. We foraged foliage from the woodlands near us to decorate the church. I spent a year spraying home-dried flowers red, all cut from my parent's garden. I'm a designer by trade so designed the table plan, order of service etc. Everything was very personal!

Hollie's red wedding dress with cape is a festive feast for the eyes. The gown is sleeveless, with 3D appliqué roses on the shoulder trailing off onto the cape itself - a true vision of elegance. A large red satin bow is fashioned on the back of the neckline. The satin texture of the dress and the layered neckline also added to the chicness of the bridal outfit. And get this - the bride designed it herself! She visioned the gown to life - pretty cool, right! What's more, the bridesmaid outfits! Matching the satin, elegant look of the bridal gown, the bridesmaids sported ivory long-sleeve satin wrap dresses. The bridal party really knocked it out of the Christmas park with their outfits - and they all look absolutely stunning.
The nearing of Christmas makes a lot of us giddy. So this entirely Christmas-themed wedding alongside the bride's red wedding dress with cape. The bride made her own order of service in the classic Christmas colours - and might we say - an incredibly beautiful job. There were sprinklings of Christmas throughout both the ceremony and the reception. Nutcrackers, holly, ivy, splashings of red and gold, large Christmas trees and Christmas foliage on the tablescapes. Lest we forget that fantastic table plan in the style of an advent calendar, also made by the bride herself! Talk about talent... Whether you're a Christmas fan or not, this wedding can make the Grinch-iest of people change their mind.
I designed my dress and veil and had it made. My sister designed, laser cut, painted and made the post office box for cards! The arch outside and inside the church was something we made during lock down. The sacks under the Christmas trees we hand sprayed with a monogram I designed. We literally did everything ourselves!
