If ever there was a place that seems tailor-made for weddings, it's Lake Como. With its dreamy waterfront views and villas and effortless Italian charm, it’s no wonder that Sadie & Matthew chose this stunning destination to say “I do.” And what a day it was! Equal parts elegant, intimate, and unforgettable fun, Sadie & Matthew nailed the dreamy destination wedding vibe. They had both of our incredible Recommended Suppliers, Emma-Jane Photography and Spice Wedding Films on hand to capture all those wonderful moments.
Villa Cipressi, their venue of choice, proved to be nothing short of spectacular. Between its lush gardens, historic charm, and jaw-dropping views, it provided the perfect backdrop for their nuptials. And the food? Delicious! The couple couldn’t recommend Villa Cipressi enough, both for its beauty and its culinary delights.
Lake Como wedding at Villa Cipressi with blue bridesmaid dresses
I took inspiration from other brides, Pinterest, and Instagram. The vibe was classy/simple/elegant/effortless. I tried to incorporate colours from the venue itself, and worked with our florist to bring our vision to life was great, Mario truly brought it all to life.
Sadie
Lake Como Wedding
The morning of the wedding set the tone for the magic ahead. Nestled in a gorgeous house by the lake, part of their stunning villa, the couple enjoyed a peaceful and intimate start to their big day. Breakfast outside, with the tranquil waters of Lake Como stretching out before them. It was the perfect way to soak in the excitement before the festivities kicked off.
Adding their own personal touch, Sadie designed the menus, name tags, and wedding signs, ensuring every detail reflected their style, which was classy, simple, and effortlessly elegant. Working closely with their florist, Mario, they brought the wedding day to life, seamlessly blending colours from the venue into the floral arrangements.
A Celebration to Remember
For all the beauty of the setting, it was the ceremony itself that stole the show. Sadie & Matthew exchanged heartfelt words at the end of the ceremony, bringing tears, joy, and all the feels. It was the perfect reminder of why they were there in the first place, to celebrate their love in front of the people who meant the most to them.
From there, the celebration continued in full swing. The evening wrapped up with a magical sparkler moment, just before the couple cut their wedding cake. As the night drew to a close, they took a moment to pause, reflect, and soak in every moment of the day. It was a perfect ending to an unforgettable celebration.
Planning Like a Pro
For future brides and grooms, Sadie shares this golden nugget of wisdom: pace yourself! Tackling one wedding task per month helped keep things stress-free and manageable. Oh, and an Excel spreadsheet for payments? Absolute lifesaver. Sadie & Matthew used their sheet to plan when to pay their normal life bills and their wedding ones!
And, of course, no wedding is complete without the perfect soundtrack. Sadie made an entrance with a violinist playing “Turning Page,” the couple made their grand exit to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” swayed to “At Last” for their first dance, and melted hearts with a classic father-daughter moment to “My Girl.”
