When modern chic meets timeless grandeur, magic happens, and Emily & Robbie’s wedding day at Wotton House was proof. Think black-tie glamour meets DIY creativity, with saxophone serenades and delicious signature cocktails.
Emily, a self-confessed type A bride and binder queen (more on that later), crafted a day that blended heartfelt moments with serious party vibes. From the old library’s breathtaking beauty to personalised touches like wedding newspapers packed with games and childhood photos, every detail had guests smiling from ear to ear for every photo captured by Recommended Supplier, Alix James Photography.
Modern minimalist wedding at Wotton Hall with wedding newspapers
It might be cliche but we couldn’t wait to see all our planning come to life and just relish in it, especially as the sun was shining down on us! We often say how lucky we feel to of had our all our family and friends surrounding us on the best day of our lives. It was everything we magined and more.
Emily & Robbie
Personal Touches and Signature Cocktails
Emily didn’t just plan the wedding, she practically authored it. From handmaking decor to designing interactive elements, the day was a total reflection of the couple. Guests were greeted with wedding newspapers featuring quirky facts and even puzzles to pass the time pre-ceremony. But the fun didn’t stop there.
The speeches? Oh, they were a standout, complete with slideshows and the pièce de résistance was a ventriloquist dummy version of Robbie, courtesy of the Father of the Bride. (Yes, really. And yes, it got laughs and a few questionable side-eyes). The bespoke cocktail party after dinner was another win, featuring signature drinks inspired by both Emily & Robbie, all soundtracked by a live saxophonist who kept the energy buzzing well into the evening.
Minimalist Glam at Wotton House
The styling was a masterclass in "less is more." Emily’s vision of modern minimalism perfectly contrasted with Wotton House’s classic opulence. The old library’s historic charm provided the dreamiest backdrop for a day filled with white roses, sleek black-tie suits, and a bride who chose understated elegance over anything fussy or over-the-top.
Post-ceremony, the vibe shifted into full-on celebration mode. The sun beamed down on the only dry day in March while guests sipped cocktails and danced to the tunes of a saxophonist-DJ combo who knew exactly what Emily & Robbie’s crowd needed, thanks to those well-curated Spotify playlists. Behind it all was Emily’s legendary Canva wedding binder, hailed by the Wotton House team as the most organised they’d ever seen (seriously, it should probably be published).
Wondering how to bring the vibes to the reception? Our answer is always a saxophonist!
Every vendor we used was amazing, they all went above and beyond. Alix James Photography was breathtaking. We couldn’t believe it was us in the photos! She made my camera-fearing husband relax, and we felt so comfortable. Our saxophonist was amazing, got everyone on the dance floor, and the vibes were immaculate. Our videographer captured parts of the day I otherwise would have forgotten, and the final footage put together makes me cry every time!
