If weddings had a festival lineup, Melissa & Dan’s big day would be the Glastonbury of love. A day bursting at the seams with joy, nostalgia, and a dance floor that could rival any main stage. They wanted “heart-spiking, freedom-dancing, nostalgia-inspired higher love”, and oh boy, did they get it. From the Northern Lights shining over their wedding cottage the night before to the golden October sunshine illuminating Brinsop Court, the wedding was pure magic. The day was captured by Recommended Supplier, Lemoine Photography. The couple also chose Recommended Supplier, Prezola, for their gift list.
Melissa, a celebrated British actress and disability activist, is known for her roles in The Interceptor, Coronation Street, Life, and Grantchester. A passionate advocate for inclusivity, she ensured that accessibility was at the heart of their wedding, making it a celebration where every guest felt truly welcome.
Autumnal Boho Luxe Brinsop Court Wedding
We wanted a day and evening that felt like the room was bursting at the seams with love and joy. Not just for us as bride and groom but celebrating every person in that room who meant the world to us. We wanted heart spiking, freedom dancing, nostalgia inspired higher love. And that’s what we got.
Melissa & Dan
A Bit of Shania Twain & Taylor Swift
The ceremony at Brinsop Court was nothing short of breathtaking. Melissa turned the corner at the top of the aisle, and there they were, every single person who had shaped their lives, right there in one place, ready to celebrate. There were tears, there was laughter, and there was quite possibly the coolest father-daughter duo speech in wedding history. (Who needs written words when you have that much love?)
Dan’s personal highlight? Their first dance. Lost in the music, swaying to Taylor Swift’s Lover, they completely forgot about the 150 people watching. It felt like they were back in their kitchen, just the two of them, twirling in their own little world. That is, until The Replicas launched into Shout Out to My Ex, and suddenly, the entire wedding party was jumping in unison like they were headlining a stadium tour.
A Wedding Breakfast to Remember
Forget traditional sit-down dinners, Melissa & Dan’s wedding breakfast was a full-blown spectacle. Bridesmaids strutted in to Man! I Feel Like a Woman, groomsmen made their grand entrance to Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, and the couple stormed in to Chelsea Dagger, as the entire room whooped, cheered, and swirled their napkins like they were front row at a rock concert.
And let’s talk accessibility. As a disability activist, Melissa made sure their venue was welcoming for everyone. Brinsop Court even installed ramps throughout the ground floor, proof that inclusivity isn’t just thoughtful, it’s essential.
Fair warning: If you watch their wedding highlights, prepare for scenes of extreme joy, outrageous dance moves, and ridiculous amounts of love.
You Will Never Regret A Photo Booth, The Memories Captured Are Priceless!
The best part of our budget was spent on photography/videography. Once that day is over, it’s so hard to remember certain parts. Thanks to the incredible photography/videography, we can relive it whenever we want. We also highly recommend an “on the day coordinator” separate from the venue one! And a content creator! For all those behind the scenes!
Melissa & Dan
When it comes to throwing an unforgettable party, Melissa & Dan don’t mess around. As the night wound down and the last dance was played, Melissa & Dan took a moment to soak it all in, the love, the laughter, the memories made. Brinsop Court was the most incredible backdrop for the wedding day. If you're looking for your dream wedding venue, take a look at our selection of the best barn wedding venues in the UK.
