Modern and minimal was the innovation behind this wedding inspiration at The West Mill in Derbyshire. With stylish brides wearing bridal jumpsuits, blazers and short dresses and the venue decorated with a few well chosen floral installations, neon signs and chill out areas. Sometimes less is more, and in this instance we couldn't agree more.
Modern, minimal styling at, industrial wedding venue, The West Mill.
Industrial Wedding Venue
The West Mill wedding venue is the perfect backdrop to any Wedding and so styling it was a great opportunity to be creative. The concept behind this editorial shoot was fashion focusing on modern, minimal styling. With an industrial venue like this, you can either go all out or keep or it simple and showcase off the features of the space which we were keen to do.Karen Eggleton
The West Mill
We've featured many a beautiful wedding at The West Mill, each one full of creativity and indivduality. Couples can truly make the unique space their own. Karen Eggleton, wedding event manager at the industrial wedding venue, has shown that a few well chosen elements can have just as much impact as a reception full of decor and details. We love the flower installations framing the top table and ceremony space, which also double up as amazing backdrops for those all important couples portraits. And talking of the couple, what amazing fashion! Bridal jumpsuits, blazers and short dresses prove you don't have to be traditional with your choices, be comfortable, be you and look fierce!
Inspiration & Styling
Opting for muted tones as the colour palette worked really well against the exposed brick and adding in pops of pinks and greens through the florals finished off the overall look. We used coloured dinner candles and black candlesticks/ dinnerware, creating a stylish and modern tablescape. When designing a style concept for tables it can be tempting to add lots of different pieces, but we are big believers in less is more and so using a good stationer, (Amy bailey in this case) and florist (Campbells) works so well. Grasses, hanging features and draped textured fabrics softened the space for the ceremony area, with candles and mixed florals to add a touch of romance.Karen Eggleton
Fashion & Beauty
When it came to the dresses we wanted to go offbeat and were keen to mix it up and so the Charlie Brear jumpsuit and matching jacket from Alexandra Anne were perfect for this.Karen Eggleton
