Ghyll Barn is a brand new Lake District wedding venue with a unique edge. The reclaimed vintage and rustic interior have been lovingly curated to bring a truly bespoke venue that can host up to 200 guests. Vernacular metals and timbers each with their own story, bejewelled with interesting Antique finds, softened at the edges with flora and foliage. Ghyll Barn stays true to its romantic surroundings and marries the interior with the breathtaking exterior. There is abundant space outside to enjoy the wonderfully idyllic views, including a converted Railway Cabin and the Helm Bar.
The theme was vintage with a modern edge including antique Persian rugs paired with industrial walls, reclaimed windows used as mirrors and fluorescent lights softened with floral styling. Shades of black and grey were paired with orange tones to create a bold yet warm feel. Dark stationery contrasted with soft table linens and a speckled taupe buttercream cake was complemented by bright flowers and dried eucalyptus. Flowers were mainly locally grown, with amber ranunculus and spray roses, fluffy white delphiniums and gorgeous avalanche roses. Black centred anemones linked perfectly to the colour theme.
The first bridal look was the Lola Crepe wedding dress by Made in Love Bridal. The simple form-fitted shape of the dress was paired with softly waved pinned up hair and a jewelled hairpiece to create a laidback bridal look. The second look, again from Made in Love Bridal was the Carla A-line dress. Paired with a cathedral veil, natural makeup and deep lip colour. The Groom's tuxedo suit with a bow tie was from ASOS.
