Chris & Joe had a stunning winter wedding at Kirtlington Park. They both looked incredible in their Louboutin groom shoes. There's nothing like that statement red bottom to complete a look! The couple's special day included speeches from the mums, sisters and best lady too. They had an all-female wedding party, which we absolutely love! With Recommended supplier, Poppy Carter Portraits, capturing the day, it looks incredible! They also chose Recommended supplier, Prezola, for their gift list.
Spreadsheets were our best friend! It feels overwhelming at first but we sat down one day and started to write down everything we thought we needed to think about from the big things down to the smallest things. That list grew and grew over time but it meant everything felt manageable as we could see it all in one place. It became an absolute beast by the end of it but we would have been totally lost without it.
Chris & Joe
Chris & Joe got ready together and wore matching but opposite suits with Louboutin groom shoes. With an all-female wedding party, donations for an LGBT charity and a reading from Robert Fulghum called 'Union’. Despite having a safety briefing and holding the smoke bombs at arm's length, one popped and spluttered out coloured ash all over Joe's face and suit! Chris' godmother used to own a jazz/blues club in London back in the 90s and recommended Morris Pleasure, an American composer and ex-musical director of Earth, Wind & Fire. He put together a 5 piece band with a set list of the couple's choosing spanning jazz, blues, disco, R&B, funk and soul!
Chris & Joe wanted their styling to be neutral and masculine as both of their personalities and style is quite understated. Also, with having a winter wedding, the couple wanted to reflect the seasonality and opted for a winter theme. They included a lot of greens/browns with white flower accents and pops of reds. As the couple knew it would also be getting dark much earlier they prioritised making use of the amazing space and bringing a sense of warmth to their styling. They made use of the fireplaces at Kirtlington Park and a lot of candles to give it that real wintery vibe. The couple wanted someone they knew and trusted to officially marry them and asked an old friend to do so!
You'll always feel the pull to give people things to help with and sometimes people are quite insistent on being involved. It took us a while to realise that having people on hand to help and give advice is great. But if you know what you want, that's ok too! Too many cooks can make things difficult so our advice is to be more selfish and decide on the things most important to you. Don't listen to others - it's your day!
