We've said it before, and we'll say it again, who says you have to wear white on your wedding day? Not us! This ruffled light blue wedding dress is giving us all the drama and romance we need. Set at the beautiful Newburgh Priory, anyone would be forgiven for thinking we're on location for Bridgerton. Especially with all the incredible floral decor by Fox and Flora. WOW. Complementing the couture look, were hair and makeup by Recommended suppliers, Lauren McCabe and Hair Creations by Colette. And behind the lens capturing all the inspiration was Recommended photographer, Gail Secker.
A luxe styled shoot with an edgy Marie-Antoinette vibe full of frivolity and excess. Marie-Antoinette was a rule-breaker celebrating individuality and femininity. After two years of restrictions, we wanted to capture the spirit of couples everywhere that are ready to indulge in a wedding party like no other. In a love story like no other - their own. Featuring all the frills and luxe florals with rich styling and a cake to rival the ruffled Millia London dress at the stunning Newburgh Priory.

Newburgh Priory is an exclusive-use country wedding venue in the idyllic village of Coxwold. Nestled in the rolling hills of the North Yorkshire countryside, it is just 15 miles from York and made the perfect location for this period inspiration. This versatile Grade I listed wedding venue originally dates to 1145 and is rich in period features. With three Georgian drawing rooms, a long gallery ruin with an optional marquee and stunning landscapes it offers an incredible backdrop for your wedding ceremony and reception. Steeped in history and political scandal, Newburgh Priory was a perfect backdrop for our rebellious bride Queen.
A luxe tablescape was created with layered textures, fabrics and materials to create a wedding party fit for a Queen. Ornate glass and gold candlesticks lay on pink velvet and silk fabrics surrounded by candlelight, luxe toffee and teal florals and acrylic place names. There was also an acrylic seating chart and statement ruffle cake to rival the Millia London light blue wedding dress. A luxe floral backdrop cascaded from the baroque mantelpiece to frame the couple, featuring toffee roses, peach orchids, ranunculus and delphiniums set in feathery silver and blue foliage.
Makeup trends were heavily influenced by the French court. They emphasised scarlet rouged cheeks and lips with dark brows and smoothed skin. My interpretation of this inspiration showcased these trends in a more delicate, modest manner. To soften, but also to modernise, appealing to stylish brides. I hope this chosen genre can showcase how makeup can be used to create bespoke, personalised looks unique to each individual

This week has been the week of coloured wedding dresses on Rock My Wedding. We've shared Hannah in her black wedding dress, today's shoot features a light blue wedding dress and coming up on Sunday we have Mahisa in a vibrant red number. Each and every gown proves you don't have to wear white to your wedding. In fact, we love a coloured wedding so much we dedicated a whole article to all the different colours and styles available. You're welcome.
