Okay, we know we always say this wedding is a must-see. But this one really is! An Icelandic giant poppy colourful spring bouquet inspired by a previous Rock My Wedding inspiration article, an Irish music megamix by DJs from Capital and KISS FM, plus the wedding was all based around Glastonbury festival where the couple have special memories together. Oh, and it was all captured by Recommended photographer, Holly Smith Photography, and it looks amazing!
We used Rock My Wedding Recommended suppliers to find our photographer, Holly Smith, who was absolutely incredible! Apart from the few obligatory family group pictures, we knew we wanted a lot more natural style photos and Holly absolutely nailed this! Lettice and Lex were recommended by the venue and our wedding planner had worked with Helen Roche previously, so most people we worked with came with high praise. We also found ourselves working with a majority of female-run independent businesses, which we were more than happy about!
Shauna & Jonty
Shauna & Jonty opted for what they called a 'Contemporary Colourful Chic' theme based on Glastonbury Festival. Shauna & Jony met at uni and then bumped into each other at the Glastonbury festival. So, naturally, the couple decided on a fun and relaxed festival vibe. The couple wanted their day to be spring-like and joyous and that gorgeous bright and colourful bouquet with a giant poppy certainly make it so. Shauna & Jonty were so inspired by one of our inspiration articles, they based their flowers and table plans on it! We're always happy to help! Shauna wore a bespoke Suzanne Neville gown with added sheer sleeves and custom hair clips. The bridesmaids wore navy wide-leg jumpsuits with cape arm detail, which just adds to those effortless festival vibes the couple were after. Shauna also DIY'ed all the stationery and signage herself!
Shauna & Jonty had a Glastonbury-themed order of the day sign, which now currently hangs in their home! The couple swapped out desserts for a cocktail hour, which really got everyone ready to party. Especially as they had DJs from Capital & KISS FM that played a fun Irish music megamix. Jonty's favourite film is Jurassic Park so Shauna joked early on in their relationship that she would walk down the aisle to the theme but they had agreed that she would walk down the aisle to a very different song. Jonty's face was an absolute picture when he realised what was happening! We have that very picture above! The couple broke a few more traditions with a bridal speech and a few close friends read 'I'll Be There For You' by Louise Cuddon (someone bring us a tissue).
Don't feel like you have to do anything for anyone else and just try to feel as much like yourselves on the day. All of the little personal touches are what make it special and unique to you. Also, it can get tiring, so take breaks when you need to and it will all be worth it in the end.
