Aloysia & Alex married at an outdoor ceremony at Athelhampton House. Their day looks stunning and elegant but the couple made sure it was super fun and full of activities too! The kids and a few adults got involved in an impromptu football game before dinner. The couple had a very family-oriented day with their own children and a lot of their nieces and nephews playing important roles in the day. Going for a relaxed and fun vibe with an outdoor ceremony and marquee reception, they ended their day with a silent disco. The beautiful day was captured by Recommended photographer, Carrie Lavers Photography.
It's never too early to start planning - we had four years to plan our day and there were probably still a few tiny things that we missed or completely forgot about! You can never be too prepared. Try and share the planning between you as much as possible. Aloysia did most (99%) of the planning and arranging, etc., which caused unnecessary stress on her part! Buy things along the way early in the build-up as opposed to leaving it all until the last minute - we spent a lot of money in the final few weeks!

The couple wanted a relaxed, friendly and informal vibe. There wasn't a particular inspiration, Aloysia loves greenery and the natural outdoor space, so the gardens at Athelhampton House helped achieve the relaxed vibe. Aloysia & Alex wanted it to feel open and inviting with an atmosphere where everyone could just enjoy themselves and mingle! They went for simple and minimal decor and dressing of the venue/marquee while still giving that amazing wedding feel and ambience. It was especially beautiful in the evening when it got darker and the lighting took over.
Aloysia & Alex did things their own way as much as they could; they didn't want it to feel too formal even in such a stunning setting as Athelhampton House. They had nobody waiting or serving drinks, they went up to collect their wedding breakfast one table at a time. It was a bit of a DIY day! There was even a fun game of football right outside the marquee, involving all of the kids and some of the grown-ups too! In the evening, the couple also opted for a silent disco!
Our friend, Vikki, handmade our wedding signs for the day as a wedding gift, and we were so happy with the outcome! Also, our photographer, Carrie, was simply incredible and we couldn’t have asked for any more! She was in full ninja stealth mode and managed to capture some amazing shots without anyone even realising she was there. She was the best! We tried to use local suppliers and friends as much as possible ahead of big companies.
