Aoife & Michael wanted to design their special day to reflect who they are as people and as a couple. With an incredible Atelier Pronovias wedding dress and an elegant glamourous vibe, this day is beautiful and was captured by the incredible Recommended supplier, Sam Docker. Aoife & Michael kept the guest list relatively small to emphasise an intimate day. It was important to the couple to give their guests a day out while also spending as much time together as possible, so they could truly feel in the moment and absorb it together. They planned the wedding from start to finish in 7 months and loved it! The couple spent their day at Recommended venue, Cripps Barn, and had Recommended supplier, Ambassador Band playing for their reception.
There's no such thing as 'normal' and you both owe it to yourselves to live the best day of your lives. We kept the details of our wedding a secret to avoid any opinions and for our loved ones to have lots of surprises on the day. This worked a treat. Everyone respected our wishes for privacy. It also allowed us to focus on one another and what meant a lot to us. Choose flexible and creative suppliers. You may be surprised by how refreshing your ideas are to them!
Aoife & Michael
Aoife wore an Atelier Pronovias wedding dress with a custom-designed veil with applique pieces directly from Pronovias. The hair accessories were also from Atelier Pronovias. Aoife's earrings were given as a gift on the morning of the wedding by the groom. They were designed by Michael and handmade to match her engagement ring that the groom had also designed! So cute! Aoife also had a blue button from her Nana's 'Button Box'. The button was sewn under the dress as the something blue.
Aoife & Michael chose their venue based on the food. They presented a feast of six starters, six mains, and six desserts on bespoke menus worked on by the couple and the chefs. The couple also served non-alcoholic champagne throughout the day. For the evening time, they had a full cheese buffet with over 30 cheeses(!), chutneys and bread, all served on personalised slate pieces. Aoife & Michael had six different types of speciality coffee bought in for guests to choose from after the feast, including decaffeinated and a mixture of herbal teas.
We really focused on getting the ceremony and dining experience right through the eyes of our guests. We designed the flowers, lighting and even the chair positioning so our guests would feel comfortable. The venue was incredible to work with. They allowed us to be as creative as we wanted including using a different bridal entrance than previously used and bringing trees with fairy lighting into the barn. The string quartet outdid themselves in composing and performing bespoke versions of our special songs. We both agree that designing the bride's veil and the groom's dinner suits were out-of-this-world experiences.
