Emma & Henry's traditional wedding at Wadhurst Castle is so classic and timeless. The wedding was decorated with stunning wildflowers and was full of touching emotional tributes that you'll have to read on to find out about (you might want to have some tissues nearby). But the couple also broke a few traditions too! Forget a tiered wedding cake, why not go for a cheese tower and cut it with a sword? This should be the new norm if you ask us. They opted for a joint wedding speech, too. The emotions and pure love of the day were captured beautifully in these photos taken by, Recommended supplier, Carrie Lavers Photography. Not forgetting that the couple used another Recommended supplier, The Wedding Shop, for their gift list.
As well as spending hours browsing Rock My Wedding, we looked up local suppliers including those recommended by Wadhurst Castle. It was a bit of a funny time during lockdown when we chose suppliers as we couldn't meet them face to face. We went for the people that we liked and had good instincts about, which really paid off as all our suppliers were so kind, patient, and organised, despite the long wait between booking and the actual wedding. We also tried to be eco-friendly by choosing Blooming Green Flowers who grow everything on their farm in Kent.

Emma & Henry wanted to make their wedding as personal as possible. Some of those sentimental details include Emma's uncle being a vicar, so he conducted the church service, Emma wearing her late grandma's earrings that her Mum also wore on her wedding day, and their friends creating artwork of their favourite pubs for the table settings. Plus, Emma's grandpa owns vintage Bentleys that have been used for all of the family weddings including Emma's parents. The couple wanted a traditional countryside wedding with wildflowers and the absolutely stunning scenery of Wadhurst Castle. While the aesthetics were important, what really mattered to Emma & Henry was having all the people they love there to celebrate with them. We also have to give a quick mention to those gorgeous blue bridesmaid dresses!
Emma & Henry's guests could not stop raving about their choir, Catching Voices and the food from Amuse catering. As we said in the introduction, this couple broke tradition in a few fun ways. One of these was a joint wedding speech, which was Henry's fave moment of the day. They shared the responsibility of public speaking together and were able to both say things that meant a lot to them. It’s such a modern and fab way to start married life as a united duo. Let's get onto what you really want to hear about...the CHEESE tower. If you don't really have a sweet tooth, why not go for a more savoury option. In terms of wedding readings, this couple chose 'This Marriage' by Rumi (we love this one so much we already have a printable version just for you).
Focus on what really matters to you and try to forget the small stuff. Don't be afraid to ask for help, planning a wedding is A LOT of work. Rain will not ruin your wedding, in fact, it won't make a bit of a difference. Acknowledge early on you and your fiancé/e's different strengths and weaknesses and allocate the to-do list accordingly!
