Some might say rain on your wedding day will dampen your spirits, but that's certainly not the case at Nat & Adam's woodland wedding at The Dreys Kent. They embraced the elements, even saying the rain added to the ambience of their day. Also adding to their day are the colourful flowers by Recommended florist The Flowers Alchemist, wool rugs lining the aisle, and personalisation of their ceremony. Hand written vows, surprise wedding readings, and bespoke stationery & fashion, are just some wedding details you'll love. Capturing the pure joy was Recommended photographer Kirsty MacKenzie Photography, so get ready to pin all the inspiration.
We chose our suppliers through recommendations, Instagram, Rock My Wedding or seeing which suppliers had already worked with others. For instance, I saw that my makeup artist, Rock My Wedding Recommended supplier Lucy Meyer had collaborated on some amazing shoots with our photographer, so I knew they already worked well together! And I chose our photographer Kirsty, because she also married at The Dreys Kent. So, not only was her style of photography amazing, but she knew the venue well!
Nat & Adam
What do you do if it rains on your wedding day? Embrace it, of course. Nat & Adam said it drizzled throughout their outdoor woodland ceremony at The Dreys Kent, but the rain added to the ambience. We can almost smell the fresh pine. During the wedding ceremony the celebrant asked all the guests to exprience a moment of Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku). Everyone stoped to listen to the sounds and breathe in the the fresh woodland air. I can only imagine the serene sense of calm and peacefulness which swept over everyone. What a way to start married life. Nat's oldest best friend also performed a wedding reading during the ceremony. She kept it a surprise so the couple heard it for the first time on their wedding day.
The style of Nat & Adam's wedding was relaxed and natural, but fun. Bespoke stationery, signage and invitations designed by the bride set the tone for their woodland wedding. We love the Timeline sign and would have been first in line for the loaded fries. Mmm yum. We have to mention Nat's wedding dress too. Altered by a seasmstress to bring Nat's vision to life of a mini underskirt with a long lace overlay. We love it! It's perfect for swishing and shows off the intricate lace detailing beautifully. Nat also wanted her best girls to feel comfortable, allowing them to each choose their own bridesmaid gown. They are the perfect array of pink mismatched dresses we ever did see.
Our advise to planning couples would be to plan ahead. The earlier you book suppliers, the cheaper their prices will be. Getting the big stuff sorted early, like photographer, food, venue and florist, means that the run up to the big day is much more relaxed. If you have a vision for a dress, stick with it! Someone out there will be willing to make those dreams come true! Spend more on a photographer. We look back through our photos all the time and relive the moments. Book a Sunday wedding - it will save you loads, and if your guests want to be there, they will be there!
