It's a 2022 trend that has taken the world of bridesmaids by storm, but now it's time for the satin wedding dress to take to the stage. (Brides, it's time to pay attention...). If you need convincing we present to you exhibit A: Emma in her Own Studio satin gown. The train, the button detailing, the matching satin hair bow... we could go on! But the images captured by Recommended photographer Harry Michael do really speak for themselves. Other style wins include Olli's light grey suit and open shirt that just ooze summer vibes, and the sleek mismatched navy bridesmaid dresses. The gifts were a breeze with Recommended supplier The Wedding Present Company, and the day a real picture of English garden party elegance.
What made it unique to us was getting married in the village Emma grew up in. We were originally meant to get married in France (at Lartigolle). But after three dates and continued covid restrictions, we switched to the UK. The personal touches that came with getting married at home were totally worth all the rearranging! Our reception was in a field that we spent so much time in growing up and we pulled in lots of favors for the planning, food, flowers and marquee which made it a real family affair.
Emma & Olli
Although Emma originally wanted a detailed dress, after trying it on she realised it wasn't for her. That's when she discovered Own Studio and bought the satin wedding dress and beautiful wrap top that we see before us today. And boy are we glad we've seen it. Understated elegance was the vibe, complemented by the satin bridesmaid dresses that are a 2022 trend we hope never ends! Another trend nailed by Emma was her hair bow which was the cherry on top of the bridal outfit.
Emma & Olli wanted their day to be bright and colourful, and trusted their suppliers to take that and run with it. We think they exceeded expectations with the wild florals, bulb fairy lights and coloured glassware that is serving up serious summer vibes. (Would you believe us if we told you this wedding took place in October...). The vintage telecabine from Tignes brought the mountain vibes to Hampshire, the only hint of winter on the sun-drenched day. Proof you don't need summer to wear a satin wedding dress or throw the garden wedding of the season!
Enjoy it, and don't stress! Everything will always work out perfectly. We left the red wine at the house, had no kindling for the firepits AND ran out of booze at 10pm. (But our AMAZING staff from Agency 1929 pre-empted this and someone wizzed to a 24hr supermarket to restock - I didn't even realise until the next day!). At the end of the day, its all about having your favourite people in the same place and the energy that creates is truly magical.
