Can we get a little commotion for the Sassi Holford dress, please? A little commotion for this whole day would be nice, actually! Katie & Ben's rustic wedding was upbeat, fun and vibrant! From the bright pink flower arrangements by Recommended supplier, Pheasant Botanica, to the funky brass band music and quirky food (the wedding menu is in the photos below if you consider yourself a foodie). Overall, the day was a true celebration of family, love, and simple fun, captured by Recommended supplier, Indie Love Photography. Ben's funky floral tie was from Recommended supplier, Peggy and Finn. Plus, the green satin bridesmaid dresses are by Recommended supplier, Rewritten Bridesmaids!
Katie's brother, Dave, did a beautiful reading called 'The Little Things', which was an adaptation of an original piece. The guests were brought to tears and many commented on how stirring and touching it was. Dave's delivery and presentation of the reading were impressive. The reading is also in the video below.
Katie & Ben
Katie & Ben had plenty of sentimental and unique touches in their day. Their friends and family all came with contributions to the day. One of the bridesmaids made the wedding cake, the cornhole boards were made by a friend and the garter was made by the mother of the bride using her own wedding dress! How amazing is that?! The couple wanted to give a special mention and thank their florist for the stunning flower column arrangement in the ceremony room which was transferred and repurposed to the outside entrance for the reception. In case you didn't know these were in our top trend predictions for 2023! Not forgetting the incredibly beautiful wedding dress that Katie wore by Sassi Holford.
The couple married in a divine setting at The Courtyard. It's the ultimate space of rustic elegance with a touch of Italian charm in the Shropshire countryside. With converted barns and whitewashed walls that made the pink flowers and outfits really pop! The styling of Katie & Ben's day was inspired by the venue. The rustic yet Italian feel paired with the blank canvas nature of the venue allowed the couple to add decor that showed off their personalities and the glorious summer season. The tables were arranged in a U-shape to match that big family Italian dinner feeling. It's also one of our fave layouts for dinners as you get to see everyone's faces and your guests all feel involved in the celebrations!
We had planned to go simpler, smaller and cheaper but we are so glad we took a relaxed approach to wedding planning and just went with suppliers and extras that we felt suited us and ultimately felt right. This meant we ended up with a wedding that was a bit bigger that went over the original wedding budget, but it was a day that reflected us and what we felt was important for our wedding. So our advice is to 'go with the flow' and not to be too static in plans.
Katie & Ben
Katie's Sassi Holford wedding dress is timeless. It'll always look amazing. Do you know what else always looks amazing? Green bridesmaid dresses! Although it seems to be a trending colour, it's definitely here to stay and we're not complaining! Katie & Ben both said the main highlight of their day was the wedding band! They really got the party going and made it all so memorable for the couple and their guests, so make sure you take a look at our advice on choosing a wedding band.
