Our favourite moment was definitely seeing each other at other ends of the aisle for the first time, in a room full of our friends and family. Also, our portrait photos with Suzy (our photographer) were so much fun. It was 37 degrees in the summer heatwave, so we waited until after dinner and speeches to do our couple portraits, and it was so nice to spend some time just the two of us with Suzy, and she made it so much fun, by just chatting and letting us enjoy our day.
Natalie & Scott
Natalie & Scott's wedding day was relaxed and full of so much love. For them, having their guests enjoy their wedding day was a priority, so they decided to go with the flow and not be too strict. Natalie loves blush pinks and neutral tones, so they used that as their main colour scheme with pink bridesmaid dresses. The blossom trees at the altar framing the window fit perfectly into the theme. A lot of the weding came together with the help of their wedding planner, inspiration from Pinterest and the idea of a beautiful modern barn wedding. Natalie & Scott wanted a rustic feel with a few modern touches. The acrylic table plan with pampas grass is the perfect example of this.
Natalie & Scott wanted their day at Rackleys Chiltern Hills barn to be personal to them. Their friend, Catherine, played the saxophone as they walked down the aisle. Natalie's brother and Scott's sister did both of their wedding readings, which were Maybe by Anon and The Art of Marriage by Wilferd Arlan Peterson. The couple had a memorial tribute to lost loved ones and Natalie actually had her grandad's RAF badge attached to her bouquet as her something old and blue. The centrepieces were inspired by Beauty and the Beast, which Natalie and her mum DIY'd and are now a special keepsake. Natalie & Scott found their day to be all the more special with these personal touches.
Decide what’s really important to you and prioritise things if you’re trying to stick to a budget. Having a photographer was one of the most important things for us, whereas favours were not because they usually end up going to waste, so we had lottery scratch cards. They made for a good conversation starter on tables where some guests might not know each other that well. Book suppliers early if you know whom you want, as they will get booked up, and leave the more minor details until later.
