Destination Wedding
Guiem Torandell Bosch: Amazed. That’s the word that best describes how Matthew and Preston’s wedding left us. On this occasion we travelled to the Catalan Empordà to be part of Matthew and Preston’s wedding whom flew from New York to catalan lands to celebrate there their big party. There, they enjoyed their four day wedding (on this gallery we only share the wedding day pictures) in one of the most beautiful spots of the area, choosing for each event a different and surprising location.
Spanish Wedding Venue - La Farinera Sant Lluis
The chosen venue for the big celebration was
La Farinera Sant Lluis, an old flour factory that was restored and converted into an event space that is used for celebrations as well as movie sets. This space has a sophisticated and elegant character that fits perfectly with Matthew and Preston’s style and the mix of culture of the guests, mostly New Yorkers, with a very mediterranean celebration. In addition to the main building, this space has vast gardens with trees of endless species, a lake and a variety of walkways where you can take a quiet walk. For guests to appreciate fully the nature of the location, at the end of the ceremony they were all invited to take a walk around the finca and at the same time they could enjoy a tasty strawberry mojito. The guests had a great time taking pictures with the animals that are in the area.
The one who enjoyed the moment to the maximum with Campari, their Italian greyhound who was able to enjoy the space and who was the center of attention from the moment that walked the grooms down the aisle.
Wedding Planner - Mille Papillons
Like you can appreciate on the pictures, the decoration that
Mille Papillons created is simply incredible with a colour palette based browns, blacks and blues, making it quite masculine, which actually suited the couple perfectly.
Pampas Grass Wedding Ceremony Decor
For the ceremony, Judith from Mille Papillons chose to do a decoration based on Pampas grass and peacock feathers. She inspired herself with the surroundings and wanted to add a surprising effect. This way the big arrangements were blended with the spectacular circle that was the perfect frame for the couple to have their “I do”. On the aisle, they placed carpets in blue tones that complemented perfectly the tree barks that belong to the place. On this occasion Mille Papillons teamed up with the impecable team at
Molist Floristes who perfectly executes Judith’s ideas to the detail. Without a doubt, the ceremony was very emotional.
Wedding Catering
The cocktail reception, that took place near the lake, with the different food stations with Spanish flavours with canapés based in tapas. The furniture was carefully selected to get the perfect mix of eclectic and stylish. The combination of Chester sofas, industrial stools and wooden tables. Once finished with their cocktails, the guests moved to the long table where they could enjoy a few typical Spanish dishes such as gazpacho with prawns and a gorgeous local fish with seasonal vegetables.
Reception Table Decor
The table’s decoration followed the line of the entire event. They used old pharmacy bottles and industrial style candleholders to mix the candles in cream and blue colours, pampas grass, thistles, and different feathers. The table was covered in vintage light bulbs. The different touch came with the black and gold cutlery, glasses in mate black, marble pattern plates and Tollix chairs in bronze colour. Without a doubt, a selection very out of the box for a wedding, however it looked absolutely stunning and elegant.
Dessert Table
After all of the speeches, the guests could get up and choose their favourite cake and other desserts in the buffet area.
Monchos Catering was the one in charge of the food and drinks of the day.
However, without a doubt the best part way to finish the party, was with the dance. Albert from
Beats & Roll knows how to get a party going. His session was perfect, as well as the lighting with backlit panels and the amazing confetti shower, which surprised everyone during the highest point of the party.
