Orange Colour Scheme
I wanted to convey orange as a chic and palatable (playful even!) option for a wedding design. Without a doubt, the existing vine on the exterior of the venue was my first spark of inspiration. When it came to the table and smaller details, tonal styling guided all my selections, and only items in shades of orange or a very neutral brown made it into the final design. I loved how only using one colour challenged me to expand on the textures I was incorporating.

I chose two distinct bridal looks from Morgan Davies London. The Ersa Atelier plunging neckline wedding dress was the perfect dramatic option with its beautiful V front and tulle skirt. The Alon Rita dress was a modern choice allowing our bride to elegantly show off her shoulders with beautiful lace statement sleeves. Both looks included pearl accessories. I echoed the theme's vibrance in the bridesmaid’s dresses with a sleek copper satin gown.

It was really important for me that our bride showed off the texture of her gorgeous natural afro hair. We opted for a defined curly twist out pinned to one side. I intended for this editorial to serve as inspiration to afro and curly-haired black brides seeking ways to style their natural hair on their wedding day. The visibility of natural hair inspiration for black brides is quite limited so I hope that these images help to contribute to a change in this.
