What happens when the geniuses that are PhotosbyHash, With Akilah and Co, Clarissa’s Flowers, Blue Pumpkin Calligraphy and RedLine DJs come together? A wedding to remember, that’s what! Yana & Dominic tied the knot at the gorgeous venue, Trinity Buoy Wharf! We’ve featured this venue so many times that we’ve actually lost count, but we can’t resist sharing a wedding at this venue because it’s going to wow us every time. Especially when our fabulous Recommended Suppliers are on the scene. To help source some pre-loved items, Yana & Dom also used our sister buy-and-sell platform, Recycle My Wedding! Every photo from this wedding looks like it belongs on a Pinterest board. From the house plant-inspired table decorations and the stunning Martina Liana wedding dress to the unmatched energy from guests who stunned in their bright and colourful outfits, we’re in LOVE with every aspect of this wedding day. The couple also chose Recommended Supplier, The Wedding Shop, for their honeymoon fund and cash contributions! Here are all the deets…
Share the load and play on each other's strengths. One of us is very creative with experience working in events, and the other is a whizz with a spreadsheet and is impeccably organised. So, we exploited those skills when planning. We also turned our early planning sessions into little weekend lunch dates we could look forward to rather than trying to face them after a long day at work. Also, do your wedding how YOU want to do it. It’s a day of celebrating you and your love for each other. Don’t worry about having to tick any ‘traditional’ boxes if those things don't work for you.
Yana & Dom
For Yana & Dom’s wedding, love and authenticity came before everything else. From the dress code (informal and bright colours), the wedding readings, the Jamaican food, the music, and the boat reception on the Thames, everything was chosen by the couple to reflect what they wanted rather than what was conventional. Yana & Dom chose Trinity Buoy Wharf as their wedding venue, and they made the most of the iconic location by taking their guests on a cruise down the river for cocktail hour. It was great as lots of the guests came from outside of London and got to see the city sights too! The couple chose a gorgeous neutral colour palette with pops of oranges and greens that naturally complemented the venue.
Yana & Dom sourced a Caribbean caterer who blew the minds of all the guests (according to the couple, their guests still talk about the food to this day)! The bride and groom also LOVE greenery in their home and brought their love of house plants to the wedding. They chose foliage as opposed to florals to decorate their wedding venue. Luckily, they found a florist happy to source around 400 plants for the day. The ceremony was a standout moment for Yana & Dom. Aggie, their celebrant, was “an absolute rockstar”. The couple said, “We had guests who assumed she was one of our best friends because of how heartfelt and stunning her script was”. Finding a celebrant who puts in the time to get to know you both as a couple is essential to making your day special!
We’ve waxed lyrical about our celebrant (and rightly so) but our photographer, Hash, is so talented, it’s a joke. He was able to put us both at ease in front of the camera and came away with some shots that made us feel like movie stars! His engagement shoot had us posing in the streets of Manchester, so by the time it came to the wedding day, we were so comfortable with him and his style. Our friends and family loved him too - we’re still trying to have him on retainer for any special life occasions in the future!
