Charlotte & Luke’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration, it was a neon-lit love letter to everything that makes them, well, them. Picture an industrial tipi decked out in vibrant colours, foil fringe, and an epic cake-cutting area. Now, sprinkle in some elder emo nostalgia vibes, and you’ve got the ultimate party that could only have been dreamed up by this unique duo and, of course, some of our incredible Recommended Suppliers! Mark Horton Photos captured the day, the lovely Bex The Celebrant created a ceremony to remember, while R and R Weddings and Events styled the space, and The Rock N Roll Souls created all the stationery!
Charlotte & Luke made their wedding breakfast entrance to Congratulations by Post Malone that mixed into Por Ti Volaré (Con Te Partiro) by Andrea Bocelli (Yep, this was a Step Brothers reference) and if that doesn’t sum up the wedding day, we don’t know what will.
Trust your instincts and stand firm on your style, even when others doubt it. When we shared our ideas with friends and family, they were uncertain, but on the day, they were amazed at how it all came together and reflected our personalities. A supportive stylist who nurtures your ideas and gives reassurance is invaluable to help with this. Also, choose suppliers who share your vision and feel like friends, and who you know will work well together—it made our wedding day even more special. Their collaboration helped make everything extraordinary, and we had the best time. P.S. A very OTT budgeting and finance tracking Excel sheet is crucial.
Charlotte & Luke
From the start, the couple had a clear vision: ditch timelessness, and embrace the now. “We didn’t focus on how our choices would age or whether we’d still love them in 10 years,” they confessed. Instead, their mantra was simple: go big, be bold, and make it feel like us. Think ‘80s neon Valentine vibes collided with foil fringe and bold styling. The aim was to infuse the venue with energy and life, crafting an atmosphere that would spark that party, feel-good vibe. However, what made their day unique was Charlotte & Luke’s approach. The couple didn’t stick to a set plan or force themselves to follow a theme. Their flexibility allowed them to create something truly special by letting their personalities guide every decision. Charlotte & Luke kicked off their wedding weekend with tacos and a trivia night, a genius move that meant less small talk on the big day and more time for each other. Efficiency and tacos? Iconic. Charlotte’s dad walked her partway down the aisle, letting her finish the journey solo. It was a powerful, symbolic moment—cue the tears.
Charlotte once promised her parents she’d cover her tattoos for her wedding day. Spoiler: she didn’t. In fact, she chose a dress that highlighted them. “Luckily, my mum and dad embraced it and loved my dress choice as much as I did,” Charlotte said. The reception was all about Charlotte & Luke’s fave foods. Think picky teas, American BBQ, and Mr. Whippy ice cream. Oh, and if by some miracle you were still hungry, a pizza truck was ready to save the day. Charlotte shattered wedding conventions with a bride’s speech, leaving the room buzzing. Add in personalised vows and a celebrant-led ceremony recounting 11 years of love, and the day authentically reflected Charlotte & Luke’s relationship so far. Becky from R and R Weddings and Events deserves her own standing ovation for transforming the cake-cutting area into a show-stopping photo op. Neon lights, flowers, and an oil drum backdrop made the cake a star in its own right—and Mark’s incredible photos capture the vibes perfectly.
It’s hard to choose just one favourite moment, but a few stand out. First, our ceremony with all our friends and family, hearing Bex talk about some of our favourite memories. It was super special. Next, walking into the wedding breakfast; our guests were all on their feet, cheering and waving their napkins in the air. The love and enthusiasm for us and our day were super wholesome. Finally, our first dance. We chose a song that was special to us, though only a handful of guests knew it. The ones who did make sure to scream along with us. When our bridesmaid perfectly timed the confetti cannon to go off at a key lyric, it was the cherry on top of the cake.
