Intimate Normanton Church Wedding

Photography by Gina Fernandes Photography

Finally answering all of your gothic prayers is Annabelle & Alex’s Halloween wedding at Normanton Church! The couple wanted to achieve a spooky, moody, Halloween vibe without being cheesy. Halloween is this couple’s favourite holiday and it was such an obvious choice for them. For this vampire-esque wedding, Annabelle wore a sparkly Vampire’s Wife wedding dress (how fitting!) and chose a bouquet of red roses. With just twelve guests, Annabelle & Alex said their ‘I Do’s’ with Recommended supplier, Gina Fernandes Photography, capturing the whole thing.

Our photographer, Gina Fernandes, was definitely our best decision. We love how the photographs turned out and how collaborative Gina was beforehand and on the day!

Normanton Church

Annabelle & Alex wanted to get married in their style with more than a quick registry office trip out. The couple decided on a gothic wedding at Normanton Church. Annabelle & Alex arrived together and walked down the aisle together, which we love! Normanton Church is a deconsecrated 'floating' church that added to their spooky Halloween vibes and Hambleton Hall (the reception venue) is the ultimate gothic country house! Annabelle wore a metallic sparkly wedding dress and carried a striking bouquet of red roses. Alex looked traditional and classic in black tie.

Elopement Style Wedding

Alex proposed to Annabelle on their 6th anniversary in August 2022. After the initial flood of emotions wore off, the couple joked that it would be amazing to get married on Halloween (their fave holiday). Then, Annabelle & Alex were having a celebratory cocktail and emailing nearby local councils to see if any were available for a small Halloween ceremony. As they only had six weeks to plan everything, the couple had specific requirements when choosing suppliers and the overall wedding day experience. The wedding guests wore their outfits in autumnal shades so they matched the season of the day!

A Halloween wedding calls for a red rose bouquet, a gothic country house and an alternative wedding dress!

We would say 'don't plan a wedding in six weeks' but it actually allowed us to focus on the most important parts of the day instead of worrying about (and spending the budget on) smaller details that we may not remember in a few years.
