Miri & Chloe’s wildflower theme wedding at Recommended Venue, Pennsylvania Castle Estate, is the perfect whimsical summer wedding day. This wedding featured a beachy dusty blue colour palette including blue bridesmaid dresses. Miri & Chloe got fully stuck in with their day and DIY’d their wedding stationery and signage. The couple got their friends and family involved in sourcing their own decor and other pre-loved pieces to create their dream day. We just can’t stop smiling while writing about this wedding, wait until you see the pictures captured by Recommended Supplier, Sadie Osborne Photography! Our hearts have melted.
Every second of the day was a highlight! In fact, we wish the day had lasted twice as long to give us more chance to soak it all up. Entering the orangery as wife and wife to cheers from all our friends and family felt amazing. If we had to choose, the best part of the whole day was the party at the end of the night. Temple, our band, blew everyone away with the incredible music, the dancefloor felt electric!

Miri & Chloe decided on Pennsylvania Castle Estate to be their wedding venue due to their love of Dorset’s rich history. Miri grew up just down the road from Portland. Her grandparents actually celebrated their silver wedding anniversary at Pennsylvania Castle in 1976 and her favourite poet, Thomas Hardy, even based one of his last novels there! It was just meant to be and made sense for this gorgeous couple! Their dresses were the only thing they kept secret from each other in the lead-up to the wedding. Chloe’s dress was by Louise Bentley and Miri’s was a Mary Lise two-piece. As the couple wanted their dresses to complement each other, they got their Maids of Honour to see them both separately before they committed to buying them.
Miri & Chloe described their wedding theme as wildflowers by the sea. How whimsical! With plenty of dusty blue and prominent sea views from the venue, this day has a real coastal feel. Miri created all the stationery. She hand-painted the invites and save the dates as well as the placenames, menus and mirror signage. The couple sourced most of the table décor ourselves and used second-hand items wherever possible! One of their aunts visited nearly every charity shop in the South West on the hunt for brass candlesticks! The food was one of the most talked about things of the whole day. The caterers made a personalised menu with a ‘carve your own’ sharing style main after a Mediterranean-inspired starter. Dessert was a show-stopping raspberry ripple cheesecake.
Being two women, it was important to us to have a female photographer. Sadie is so chilled and we loved her ability to capture candid moments and make them memorable. Having followed her career on social media for years, she was the first and only photographer we contacted. On the day there were no formal photos of family and friends because we didn’t want to waste any of the day, we just wanted real moments between us and our guests.
