We’re not entirely sure what is more incredible; the homemade lace wedding dress, the beautiful pastel bouquet, or the golden hour pictures!? Originally planning to marry in July, Becky & Chris moved their wedding to September. Loving Italy and everything about it, their day was heavily influenced by the gorgeous country. Complete with Italian inspired sharing platters, a lemon cake, and DIY negronis (yes please). We absolutely love their rustic styling, from the wooden ladder complete with flowers, to the Order Of The Day palette!
We got married in Becky's family church in Burwash, East Sussex, and had the reception at a family friends farm. Our wedding was full of personal touches. We created so much ourselves, even my auntie made the napkins after I dyed them pink using avocados.Becky & Chris
My dress was made by my incredibly talented Mum. The flowers were all grown in Kent at Blue Hen Flowers. They were then handpicked the day before the wedding. Our flower girl wore an old Liberty print dress of mine that my mum had made. We adapted it slightly so that we could create a matching bow tie for our Page Boy to wear. We also had so many family and friends collect petals for us so we could make our own confetti. Our DIY bar was decorated in vines, we also bought our own drink so everyone could help themselves.
If you're getting married in 2021, do not be put off by the numbers! Despite all the ups and downs, and planning our wedding during a global pandemic, we wouldn't change a thing about our day. Go extra big on all the other things, and make sure you get a videographer! We hesitated at first as it was an extra expense we didn't think we could justify, but friends persuaded us into it after they had one at their wedding. It was the best decision!
Our favourite moment was walking out of the church as husband and wife, having confetti thrown over us by our closest family and friends. We also had a 30 minute couples photoshoot in the fields just outside the church. It felt really special having that time just us two.Becky & Chris
Becky’s mum is one super talented lady! Her homemade lace wedding dress is the stuff of dreams. Take a look at this stunning lace gown, complete with a high neck and long sleeves. We also love the fact that Becky & Chris really incorporated a DIY aspect into their day, which allows for a more eco-friendly wedding.
