This wedding is extra special because the bride is a wedding planner herself! Rianna planned her own day with a fabulous floral hand painted silk wedding dress. Rianna & Oliver’s wedding at Farbridge is so pretty and magical with an elegant pink and green colour palette, personal readings, a symbolic ring ceremony and even a magician! Capturing all these special moments was Recommended supplier, Jess Soper Photography. The couple also had Recommended supplier, Prezola, for their gift list.
After many years of working as a planner and building strong relationships in the wedding industry, I knew who I would enquire with. Some of our suppliers I had worked with before. We actually saw our photographer Jess Soper in action at our friend's wedding. She was so fun, friendly and quirky, we knew when we met her she just had to be our photographer. For the suppliers that I had not worked with before, I did my research and read reviews, using Instagram and fellow industry recommendations.
Rianna & Oliver
Rianna & Oliver wanted a luxurious country wedding that wasn't over the top. They had originally planned an Italian weekend wedding but fell in love with Farbridge and changed their minds. Farbridge ticked all of their boxes as it is elegant and subtle in its beauty. As the couple had a post-wedding brunch, it felt like a destination wedding without being one, with all the relaxed and intimate vibes. The priority for the couple was making sure every guest felt spoilt with constant food, drink and entertainment. Rianna's cousin hosted the ceremony alongside the registrars. Another special moment was the readings that Rianna's aunt and Oliver's sister gave. Including Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
That dress! Rianna had the floral hand painted silk 'Katelyn' wedding dress by Wendy Makin on her Pinterest board for years. She knew for a long time that she was going to get married in that dress. When she was shopping she found out that the dress was the last of the collection as they had stopped making that print. One of Rianna's favourite moments was walking down the aisle and hearing the gasps as people reacted to that statement wedding dress. The day was completed with outstanding entertainment from the magician to the singer and what is apparently the best food a lot of the guests had ever tried! Yum!
Even after many years of wedding planning, planning my own wedding has made me relate so much more to my couples. There is so much noise from everyone around you with opinions, it is always great to hear advice and help, but ultimately it is your day so you can choose to take that advice or just say, "thank you but we are going in this direction". Sitting down as a couple is also so important, you can get caught up in the snowball planning that you forgot to spend time together and discuss it.
