In episode 49 of the podcast, Imogen & Ella are joined by Rock My Wedding content creator, Sasha Kirkham. They discuss the many ways in which couples can save money during the wedding planning journey.
Filmed at Recommended Supplier venue, Iscoyd Park, the three discuss the building blocks of saving money whilst curating your big day. First things first; evaluation! Evaluating what is most important to you, the non-negotiables, and what you could compromise on is the first step to finding areas where you can save some pennies.
As part of her job, Sasha makes a lot of wedding decor DIYs for the Rock My Wedding TikTok and Instagram pages. So naturally, she goes over how DIYing elements of your wedding can be a great way to not only save money, but also to get involved in a fun project with friends, family, and your partner.
They also discuss Recycle My Wedding, and the benefits of shopping second-hand, especially when it comes to wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, decor and accessories. You don't have to break the bank to have the wedding of your dreams!
Finishing off, the three conclude that there are so many ways to cut down on your budget, and it also doesn't mean you have to necessarily compromise on the things you really want - it's just about finding things through different avenues, discussing everything thoroughly with your suppliers, and ensuring you have a good list of questions for your suppliers and venue.
