Wedding
Emma the Bride: My dress and veil was by an Australian designer
Karen Willis Holmes. I wanted something simple and classic that flattered my shape.
I wanted my shoes to be something I could wear again, comfortable and not to high, my
Loeffler Randall sandals were perfect.
My necklace was a gift from my mother and represented my something old, it has small pearls with a diamond and gold clasp is a family heirloom.
I kept my makeup natural with a slightly defined eye to make my blue eyes pop and kept my hair off my face to show off the necklace.
Grooms Attire
The Groom & Groomsmen wore
Peter Jackson suits and accessories. Tom proudly wore antique gold cufflinks that were his Grandfather’s and were passed down to him from his uncle.
The Venue
I first saw
Villa Regina, Teodolinda online and was captivated by the beauty of the building, the gardens and the view. The 2 trees on the courtyard that are filled with lights was a real selling point. The venue was even better in person and it was great fun having the whole wedding party getting ready in the same place.
Colour Scheme/Decor
We didn't need to do much work to the venue as it was already perfect from the beautiful architecture inside, the gardens and the 2 incredible sparkling trees.
We just added small things to make the venue more personal
•
Metal arrows pointing to the wedding and the champagne
• Our Polaroid guest book in which we got each guest to snap a photo stick it in themselves and write a cute note inside. We are then getting our very talented maid of honour Dannie to add personal small illustrations to the book afterwards.
• On the guest book table we had personalised strawberry rock candy and personalised sparklers for the first dance.
Flowers/ Florist Centrepieces
• I wanted different white flowers with foliage to add textural interest and because I absolutely love peonies, roses with green foliage (we used olive leafs). We kept the flowers the same for the arch, bouquets and centrepieces.
We had a variety of different sized candles to weave in between the flowers for the centrepieces, with a wooden table number for each table.
The Wedding Party
I wanted the girls to all wear different dresses that suited each girl individually because they were all different shapes and sizes. We did keep a running theme of the blush through the dresses because it was a flattering colour for all the girls and we didn't want them to look too mismatched.
The floral dress on my maid of honour Dannie was from
Lover
Jess was wearing an off the shoulder fitted
Manning Cartel dress
Lucy was wearing a
Shona Joy dress.
Bridesmaid makeup and hair- simple makeup with a half up half down hairstyle.
The flower girls all wore the same
Monsoon dress because they looked cute and because the bridesmaids all wore different dresses.
Ceremony, reading, special moments
We are very fortunate to have a family friend as a celebrant. She brought a light hearted approach to the ceremony which we loved! Wedding readings included ‘The Apache Wedding Blessing’ and ‘The Promise’ by Heather Berry and our vows were traditional.
Entertainment
Entertainment was provided by
Blunotte Eventi. The team at Blunotte were fabulous and organised a DJ, Jazz band and lighting, all of which made for a spectacular evening.
Food
All food including the wedding cake was provided by the Teodolinda team. Guests were served appetisers and aperitives by the pool after the ceremony. Later the dinner featured spectacular home-made pasta with burrata cheese and fantastic fish for main course. A dessert buffet was served outside and it was amazing.
Photographer
I first saw
Matts work on Instagram and instantly fell in love with his style of photography.
