Pampas grass decor and industrial vibes were the order of the day for this wedding at Recommended venue, The Shack Revolution. Walking down the aisle clutching a beautiful dried flower bouquet, flanked by her bridesmaids in emerald green and wearing a lace Eleganzza Sposa wedding dress, you can see the joy oozing out of this bride! DIY decor added personal touches to this intimate wedding, including the handmade hexagon arch that provided the perfect backdrop to the nuptials.
We were surrounded by immediate family, surrounded by so much love! Having an intimate wedding was the best thing we ever did. We also got married on a Monday! Every glass bottle on our tables had been contributed by a family member in other words they had to do some drinking to lead up to the wedding! We added in our little touch of Africa! I had the father-daughter dance with my lovely Grandad. We also sat at our own table which saved all the family drama but also allowed us to have some time together to just soak everything up!

We wanted our day to be simple, modern and intimate. I have dreamt of my wedding day since a little girl. Pinterest was a life savior but I also had a vision in my head that I made come to life on the day. Like I've said previously we incorporated my home town being South Africa in as much as we could. The flowers included proteas being the South African national flower. I wanted a unique look for the bridesmaids so they had just amaranthus for their bouquets! With it being the first family gathering since COVID-19 we just wanted everyone to have a good time!

With the help of family, it became our little wedding DIY. That hexagon arch that you see, we made that along with the podium too! Also, I (Georgie) am South African and so it was only fitting to incorporate that into our big day. We had mini Amarulas for wedding favours along with a traditional tin mug and rusk which I grew up enjoying around the campfire under the African stars. We also made sure that we incorporated some good South African tunes!

This couple decided to keep things intimate with 35 wedding guests attending their celebration and are proof that smaller weddings can be just as beautiful and special! Here at Rock My Wedding we have seen a fair few intimate weddings and there are some that we think are a must-see for you too, like this London wedding where the bride wore a chic tea-length dress, or this celebration with an incredibly sentimental bridal outfit! If you are currently considering your guest list then we have a podcast episode that you may just want to listen too. From guest politics to plus ones, we have you covered!
