Love Story
Claire the Bride: Lenny and I first met at university in 2006 and even from our first date I knew he was the one. He took a while to pop the question though but finally proposed in 2014 whilst we were overlooking Niagra Falls.
Venue
As my parents have an apartment in Southern Spain we had our heart set on a wedding abroad. Having looked at a few different venues we knew we had found the one when we visited
Casa Rosa, nestled between the mountains in the beautiful village of Benahavis.
Planning
We officially married in Gibraltar 2 days before our wedding ceremony at the villa. We were lucky enough to have
Rachel Rose Weddings as our wedding planner and stylist and cannot recommend them highly enough, they took away any stress and without them we would not have been able to realize our wedding dream.
Decor
We wanted a natural spring feel to the styling and flowers, so that it would sit perfectly with the villa and its natural surroundings. We chose muted spring colours with lots of herbs and lavender, the centerpieces were arranged in various zinc containers and were just stunning. NulkiNulks designed a table plan that was displayed on an old ladder complete with miniature zinc watering cans filled with herbs.
Cake
We decided to opt for one of Rachel Rose’s cheese towers instead of a traditional wedding cake, this was beautifully styled on a wine barrel with fresh fruits and our guests gratefully devoured this later in the evening so was a great choice.
Special Moments
The highlight of our day was finding out that we were going to have a baby just shortly before our wedding. So William was able to be at our wedding even if he was only the size of a kidney bean. Rachel and our
caterers helped to keep this a secret from our guests by discreetly giving me grape juice instead of champagne.
One of my favorite moments was when we escaped for a stolen moment on the roof terrace. It was just incredible to be husband and wife and feeling so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends
