With all these disco balls, we’re warning you to prepare to be dazzled! Nikki & Robb’s wedding at Recommended Venue, Thorpe Garden, included disco balls, colourful sorbet hues and playful streamers. The couple also had plenty of fun entertainment including live illustrations from Recommended Supplier, Sophie M England. The wedding day was a total celebration of colour and love that deviated from tradition. From the heartfelt music-filled wedding ceremony with personal readings to their feel-good party reception, this wedding day is as unique as this fabulous couple. Of course, we haven’t even mentioned Nikki’s vibrant pink veil, personalised leather jacket and metallic pink shoes yet but that would be spoiling the fun…
We loved our ceremony, it was a short 30-minute civil ceremony but we played the music we loved and our friends wrote a beautiful reading, which can't be found anywhere, and for that moment it felt like it was just us in the room.
Nikki & Robb
Nikki & Robb really made their wedding day their own. They said no to certain traditions and opted for bright colours, disco balls for days, and big florals to create the ultimate feel-good day. Nikki has always been a fan of colour and Robb works within the lighting and events business, so he has always had a love for disco balls. When you put the two together, you get this incredible day! Streamer decorations and large flower arrangements added some playful texture and colour to their venue. For entertainment, music was a priority. The couple had a brass band lead them out of the ceremony and into the drinks reception just to warm up the party!
Nikki lost her dad 12 years ago and wanted to find ways to include him in the day. She didn't want a photo or memory table, so she came up with a touching tribute. Nikki's dad was a biker and his biker name was Eagle, upon being a biker he had an amazing leather jacket FILLED with different eagle badges (and various others). On the day, Robb wore one of Nikki’s dad’s eagle pins on his suit to represent him. It was the perfect nod to Nikki’s Dad on the day, and also something they knew he would love! Nikki also walked down the aisle to This Must Be The Place by Iron & Wine. Nikki’s dad was the lead singer of this band, so it just made sense.
Our wedding was traditional with a twist. It was romantic but full of humour and love, we laughed throughout and just did everything WE wanted to do and not follow the "rule book" of weddings!

When browsing inspiration through social media, remember it's your day and nobody else’s. It's great as a guide for styling and advice but remember to make the day yours. Whether it be that quirky song you walk down the aisle to or the pink veil you just NEED to wear. We were huge fans of Nikki’s personalised leather jacket!
