Grace’s Lusan Mandongus gown is giving us classic Audrey Hepburn vibes and we are seriously here for it. Going for a simple, winter chic look, Grace & Olly were inspired by the striking white space of the main room of the Core Clapton. They adapted traditions to fit their values, including Grace’s mum walking her down the aisle, as well as speeches from those who they wanted. They also picked up some Christmas trees last minute, which were decorated in fairy lights (we love). Their Gift List was also provided by Recommended Supplier, Prezola, and their day was captured by Anna Vesty Photography. Now, that’s some good taste…
My favourite moment was during the ceremony. Belting out Bridge Over Troubled Water while watching a crowd of almost all the people I love singing it back at me! It was surreal, emotional and so joyful. We really wanted a song during the ceremony but weren't sure how well it would it work. It gave me some time to process the enormity of the moment, as up until that point it had all gone so fast due to the adrenaline!

We didn't have a huge budget. So we pulled in all the favours we could from talented and generous family and friends, which made it really special. We have friends and family to thank for the band, DJ, cake, dessert, beautiful wedding stationery and signage, event planning and on-the-day coordination. Also a violin and flute duet during the ceremony, amongst other things!
Our humanist celebrant was amazing. The ceremony was so important to me and Frances helped us create exactly what we wanted. I wanted there to be some reflection on our values as a couple, as well as the story of how we met and for there to be the right balance of levity and humour but also an air of solemnity in the right places.
I think it's really easy to get overwhelmed. It seems like there's so much to do! But just keep chipping away at it and it will all come together. It is so much work and effort for one day. But, looking back, now I really treasure the memories of all that planning. So, at the risk of sounding super cheesy, enjoy the journey not just the destination. The process of making it all happen was actually a really fun joint project and the perfect preamble to married life.
