Claire and John's Larkspur Lodge wedding has got us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Not just from the love these two obviously have for each other, but because of all the cosy wedding lighting! Decked out in candles and fairy lights, Claire & John created a relaxed wedding day that oozed timeless glam with chic contemporary elements. Planned in less than 10 weeks, this whole day has completely blown us away. Traditions weren’t something this couple cared much for. Opting for a short feather wedding dress, disco balls, and sparkly wedding accessories, prepare to be wowed by Claire & John’s beautiful day. The couple had the lovely Recommended Supplier, Jess Sommerville, capturing every minute of that day.
Our photographer, Jess, was someone we came across on Instagram and we are so glad we did! Jess was the perfect vibe for our day, we loved her style! She's the most wonderful photographer and really did make all of us feel at ease whilst capturing memories that we will cherish forever!
Claire & John
The ceremony was Claire & John's favourite part of their Larkspur Lodge wedding! Theirs certainly wasn’t your typical wedding. Claire's best friend sang her down the aisle, John's best friend married the couple, everyone sang 'Sweet Caroline' rather than a traditional hymn, and the absolute show-stopper was Claire & John's niece who did the most beautiful reading. She read out Maybe by Anon. The personalised wedding vows also produced lots of laughs and tears. The couple kept everything as a surprise (much to their parent's annoyance). Traditions like "you must wear a dress", "you must have a three-course wedding breakfast", and "you must throw the bouquet", aren't for everyone! Don't be afraid to break tradition if that's what you want, it's your day, your way!
Claire didn't choose a traditional long wedding dress as the couple only had 9 to 10 weeks to plan their whole day! However, even if they had all the time in the world, Claire always wanted something a little more modern and less traditional. She ended up with a long-sleeved short feather wedding dress, which perfectly fitted the black tie dress code and style of the wedding party. It felt meant to be! The main vibes for the outfits were timeless and chic with a modern twist. Claire mixed classic pieces with modern accessories to ensure that everyone felt comfortable and loved what they wore whilst dancing the night away. Claire & John always loved the idea of black tie and, therefore, going with a modern cocktail and disco theme felt perfect for us.
Our niece, Poppy, suffers from a cruel and heartbreaking skin condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Cure EB is a charity very close to our hearts and many of our friends and family. To recognise the love and support of everyone at our wedding we made a donation to Cure EB and each guest received a lovely Cure EB pin badge with a warm note about the charity.

Attending Claire & John's Larkspur Lodge wedding was also their cute pet doggy! Their furry friend looked so adorable with the bow tie. Here are some more pets at weddings where couples brought along alpacas, horses, cats, dogs, and more to their weddings! Adding to that modern yet classic vibe was Claire's neutral dried flower wedding bouquet. Here's everything you need to know about dried wedding flowers if you're considering a bouquet like Claire's.
