Undoubtedly, the fashion at this wedding was nothing short of perfection.
The music started to play, and the ceremony room doors at Gunnersbury Park gracefully swung open. As I watched Alice walk down the aisle in her wedding dress, she looked more beautiful than ever before. At that instant, a rush of overwhelming emotions washed over me. Saying our vows before our dearest family and friends stands as the most cherished moment of my life.
Rupert
Alice and Rupert planned their dream orangery wedding at Gunnersbury Park exactly how they wanted it. Rupert personally designed all the wedding stationery, adding a personal touch to every detail. The couple opted for a magnificent croquembouche tower, inspired by their shared love for Masterchef Australia. The wedding also featured a fabulous variety of musical elements. Alice's sister rapped a remarkable musical-themed maid of honour speech, which was a creatively reimagined version of Hamilton's "Satisfied." The ceremony and reception were accompanied by acoustic singers and musicians, and the wedding band kept the celebration going with jazz, modern tunes, and musical theatre bangers. To top it all off, their celebrant was a West End Theatre Director. Now that sounds fun!
Alice and Rupert wore two different outfits, carefully chosen for each phase of their wedding. During the registry office ceremony, Alice opted for non-traditional bridal separates, and a headpiece inspired by her grandmother's hat that she always admired as a child. In contrast, Rupert looked dashing in a finely tailored double-breasted groom suit. For the vow ceremony, the couple aimed for a simple yet elegant style. They embraced a monochrome colour scheme infused with tasteful green accents to harmonise with Rupert's tie and the maid of honour's dress. One particularly delightful detail is that Alice purchased her Catherine Deane dresses from a sustainable bridal boutique specialising in small collections and pre-loved dresses, making their fashion choices even more fabulous!
We always wanted to get married in an Orangery in London. We also wanted to avoid the package wedding, and to make the day as us as possible, which Gunnersbury Park allowed us to do. It is a Local Authority building so we could choose almost all our suppliers. There was no corkage fee, so we selected our own wines, and the Orangery provided a blank canvas for us to work with. For any couples looking to put their own stamp on their day, we would recommend looking for this type of venue.
