Geometric wedding decor is here to stay, and Locate to Create has given us a beautiful display of hexagonal moon gates, wedding stationery and favours to swoon over. Enhancing her vision are Persian rugs, grazing boards and natural floral displays. You most definitely won't be short for wedding ideas and inspiration. Just what Fridays are made for.
Vision
Different characteristics of a shape convey different meanings and emotions. Used in a certain way, shapes can be a powerful way to communicate. With this in mind, Locate to Create used their styling skills and looked closely at a variety of shapes Geometric, Abstract and Natural/ Organic.
SHAPED BY LOVE
The statement geometric Hexagonal backdrop was softened with shapes from nature expertly executed by the super talented Michelle from Flower Art using breathtaking floral arrangements to soften the harsher lines creating a yin and yang look and feel, that’s truly striking. The earthy, natural tones and hexagonal shaping was again mirrored within the cake and wedding favour biscuits, which doubled as place settings, all beautifully created by Chelsea Buns Cake Design. - Holly Dallison from Locate to Create
Geometric wedding decor has been creeping onto the wedding scene for a while now, and we're pleased to say it shows no sign of disappearing. The use of hexagonal shapes displayed in this shoot is truly breathtaking. I particularly love the wooden moon gate, making an excellent backdrop for the altar and wedding portraits. The shape is then echoed in the wedding stationery and delectable wedding biscuit favours adding continuity. All of this inspiration takes place at The Cherry Barn, which offers the perfect natural setting to enhance this beautiful concept.
TABLESCAPE
I decided to arrange the rustic trestle tables and chairs into a lucky horseshoe shape, helping to create an intimate wedding breakfast set up linked together with a selection of Persian rugs. Natural foliage, soft teal, mustard earthy tones and a birch backdrop decorated with hoops, also classified as a geometric shape, framed the top table all helping to bring the ‘outside in’. Ellen from Harriet’s Table always supplies stunning high-end vintage crockery, glassware, cutlery and napkins. Her gleaming vintage champagne saucers and green, blue and gold plates totally complimented the style of the day. - Holly Dallison from Locate to Create
TOP TIP
It's really important to remember that such a stunning cake deserves to have a prominent position. Always consider how best to display your cake allowing your guests to really appreciate the artistry involved in its creation. - Holly Dallison from Locate to Create
Grazing boards was one of our 2019 Wedding Trends predictions, which in true form has now catapulted onto the scene. After pinning, every beautiful image by Rebecca Carpenter Photography, I'm off to raid the kitchen and dream of this beautiful platter and inspiration.
