Edwina & David’s London wedding took place across five wedding venues. FIVE! The couple made the most of what the city has to offer by getting ready at Recommended Venue, The Ned, a twilight wedding ceremony at Fitzrovia Chapel, a wedding breakfast at Somerset House, a quick drink at The Langham and a reception at The In and Out Club. What a wedding! As the couple already live together and have an adorable son, they didn’t feel the need to stick to many traditions. That being said, they did keep things traditional with the styling. Opting for an editorial vibe with their photography and wedding fashion! The couple also had personalised wedding newspapers by Recommended Supplier, The Crafty Lab, and their stationery from Recommended Supplier, Papier.
Walking down the aisle to our string quartet surrounded by candles in the beautiful Fitzrovia Chapel was incredible. When we exchanged our vows, we somehow still felt like the only two people in the room. It was a lovely touch that we were able to open and serve champagne to all of our guests in the church after we had walked down the aisle. They were all captured in the spell of the little church as much as we were!
Edwina & David
The vibe of Edwina & David’s wedding was elegant city chic with a romantic and deeply personal twilight ceremony followed by a Christmas townhouse ballroom reception and after-party! The couple’s celebrations spanned 5 different venues in London to give their guests a true flavour of the city. As Edwina & David already live and have a child together, they didn’t feel the need to follow all the usual traditions. The couple fell in love with Fitzrovia Chapel and decided to get married there at 5 pm by candlelight. Just before, the couple had an intimate family lunch at Somerset House prior to the twilight wedding. Multiple locations call for multiple looks! Edwina wore two very different bridal looks for the day! After the wedding, Edwina & David snuck off for a drink at The Langham before joining the rest of their guests for jazz, champagne and small plates at The In and Out Club complete with an outdoor nighttime confetti exit!
Music was really important to the couple. They walked down the aisle to ‘Video Games’ by Lana Del Rey as both Edwina & David find it such a beautiful song. They walked back down the aisle to ‘Touch The Sky’ by Kanye West as it’s a song they listened to a lot when dating. The incredible Juniper Jazz played at the wedding reception and did a rendition for the couple’s first dance together. Besides the music, the couple also got personal with their wedding vows. The Westminster Registrar team allowed Edwina & David to completely customise their vows, which made them so much more meaningful. Any pre-wedding nerves the couple had quickly disappeared when they got to the altar as they both enjoyed exchanging such personal words on the day. Edwina & David managed to find such an incredible photographer and videographer who could really capture the editorial style photography the couple wanted. A highlight for both Edwina & David is the video footage shot by Jensen Films.
Get the big things sorted first (venue, catering, photographer etc.) and then worry about the dress and details. I rushed into the dress. I initially purchased one at a sample sale and ended up changing my mind about it at the last minute (four weeks before) which made sourcing a new dress and getting it altered in time the most stressful part for me.
