Wedding Venue
We wanted a venue that we could book for the whole weekend. We looked at lots of venues but Anran and had enough accommodation for guests to stay near-by either in onsite accommodation, in bell tents which we hired or in local accommodation. We fell in love with Anran as soon as we saw it and we were fortunate to stay for five days in the middle of the 2018 summer heatwave. There were beautiful features including a lily pond for the outdoor ceremony, the glasshouse where we had the wedding breakfast and the converted ‘Nissen Hut’ dating from the second world was where we had the evening band and music. Anran was the perfect venue for us as it provided a blank canvas where we could decorate as we wanted and choose our own catering yet also had some of the luxury amenities that you might expect for a wedding venue. There was even an outdoor pool where we had a mini pool party and BBQ the next day in the 28-degree heat.Danya & Jezz
We've always had a soft spot for weddings in the South West, with many gorgeous venues and dreamy locations for couples to say their I do's. Anran being one of those amazing venues, with its stunning glasshouse and picturesque grounds giving Danya & Jezz the perfect spot to have an outdoor wedding, and stunning lake side portraits.
Styling & Flowers
Anran had so much natural beauty that styling was very easy, and we didn’t have to do much decorating. Jezz put his carpentry skills to good use and made a wooden naked tipi from bamboo under which the blessing took place. We had a table plan made from a green moss board from Smith and Goat and Acrylic plan created by Aimee Willow which suited the glasshouse setting. The flowers were by Joanna Game – Viridis Studio. She really listened to what we wanted and considered the style of the venue to create the most stunning arrangements. The look was romantic and flowerful with grey-green eucalyptus foliage and flowers in blush peach, pale dusky pinks and plum with the occasional pop of sky blue. Roses, first of the dahlias, lacey achillea, astrantia, trailing sweet peas and sky-blue delphiniums were included in the bouquets. The tables for the glasshouse reception were decorated with a lovely eclectic mix of mid-summer flowers, herbs in small vintage terracotta pots, tiny vine tomatoes and glass candlesticks with pretty coloured candles. All running down the centre of the tables leaving space for the sharing platters.

Like confetti exits and sparkler send offs, smoke bombs are becoming a key moment to capture on couples wedding photography timelines. Kitty Wheeler Shaw and This Modern Revelry both did an amazing job at capturing all the precious wedding day moments, so much so we've now watched the film and poured over the pictures multiple times.
