Catherine & Becker’s wedding at Recommended Venue, Ashridge House, in Hertfordshire was a total celebration of love, family, friends, culture, and good times. Inspired by one of their favourite anime movies, this unique wedding at Ashridge House was all about vibrant colours. The couple wanted to have that ethereal dream-like quality whilst also having one hell of a party. It was also part of the vision for the day to fully reflect the couple’s cultures and heritages. This meant having a Chinese Tea Ceremony, a Chinese lion dance, belly dancers, and a zaffa band! Capturing this wedding was Recommended Supplier, Vic Rivero Films. Plus, the menu bands were created by Recommended Supplier, Lilac and White!
My husband said his favourite part of the day was the celebrant ceremony and watching me walk down the aisle, he said I looked beautiful and as if I was floating down the stairs. Mine was when we were being introduced into the wedding breakfast, being able to see everyone celebrating our marriage and also seeing the stunning transformation of that room was an amazing feeling.

Multicultural Ashridge House Wedding
Catherine & Becker’s wedding was a total mix of both of their cultures and heritages. Catherine is half Chinese and half Thai and Becker is Iraqi Arabic and both are born in the UK. The couple wanted to reflect and celebrate all aspects of who they are by having a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony and Chinese lion dancers. Becker’s culture was celebrated with Arabic entertainment, including the traditional zaffa drummers and a belly dancer. The happy couple did all of this whilst also celebrating their British roots, which is why Ashridge House was the most perfect venue. The inspiration for the styling came from an anime film called ‘Your Name’. This film is a favourite for Catherine & Becker who used the vibrant colours and magical dream-like quality of the movie in their wedding. The suppliers went above and beyond to bring this to life and actually brought the bride to tears. What a dream!

Catherine made all the floral resin place cards by herself, which was an epic project! She worked with one of her dear friends who happens to be a calligrapher to create mementoes for all the guests too!
