Think modern gothic Addams family wedding and you have Laurel & Tom's incredible wedding day! The couple had fun and alternative styling for their gothic day with a black colour palette. From that breathtaking black wedding cake, black bridesmaid dresses, and black coffin signage, too! Laurel & Tom wanted to encapsulate their style and wow their guests...they were wowed and so are we! Recommended supplier, Nya Rue Events, was behind all the amazing ideas behind this unique day! And Recommended supplier, Darren Lovell Photography, was responsible for capturing all the incredible gothic vibes.
I started Nya Rue Events, to help other alternative couples or couples who don't want to follow the norm. Rock My Wedding is the perfect advocate for that!
Laurel
As an alternative bride, Laurel found it hard to get suppliers that were happy to create her fabulous style. It took the couple a lot of time and research but they were determined not to fall into doing what is traditional or considered normal for a wedding. Instead, they went their own route with a modern Gothic style wedding. The bridal party wore black bridesmaid dresses, the groom wore a velvet tuxedo, obviously we have to mention that gorgeous black wedding cake, the game of beer pong AND the black coffin signage! Obsessed is an understatement. In fact, we're so inspired we might repaint the office. Black is just so chic.
Tom arrived at the wedding in his van, and their two gorgeous little girls wore black and red heart flower girl dresses. So cute! For the ceremony, Laurel & Tom had a string quartet. Laurel walked down the aisle to the string quartet expertly playing 'Can I Have This Dance?' from High School Musical. They also played the Harry Potter theme tune for the signing of the register. Laurel & Tom are all about movies and TV shows. The couple also named their tables after some of their favourite TV shows like Making A Murderer, Only Muders In The Building, and so many more to match their moody, gothic vibe.
Always do what you want, don't conform and be unhappy. It is your wedding day, no one else's! Also, don't invite anyone that you wouldn't offer to pay for their dinner.
Laurel & Tom
Laurel & Tom's black wedding cake looks too good to eat. If you're looking for some more magical cake inspiration, take a look at our iced wedding cakes. Opting for a marquee wedding gives you a real blank canvas space, so you can decorate it however you like and really show off your personal couple style. Laurel & Tom did it best with neon signage!
