Amber & Lorraine’s Lyde Court wedding was a true celebration. A celebration of love, friends and family, and their heritage. The couple wanted a minimalist colour scheme for their Lyde Court wedding to make the rainbow confetti and smoke bombs pop. They had a mixture of English and Filipino traditions throughout their day with a beautiful personalised veil for the Filipino unity veil and cord ceremony. The whimsical styling makes this day all the more romantic, which was all planned by Recommended Supplier, HS Weddings. The stunning I Do Crew are rocking dresses from Recommended Supplier, TH&TH Bridesmaids! Plus, those stunning pearl bridal shoes on Lorraine are by Recommended Supplier, Rainbow Club. Capturing this beautiful day on film was Recommended Supplier, Little Moments Films.
We used a combination of wedding supplier websites, such as Rock My Wedding and Instagram to try and find the suppliers who could create the vibe we were going for. We found both our photographer and our videographer through Rock My Wedding. We wanted to try and use as many small, local businesses as we could and support female-owned businesses.
Amber & Lorraine
Amber & Lorraine consider themselves as anything but a traditional couple and they wanted their wedding day at Lyde Court to reflect that. To honour Lorraine's Filipino heritage, the couple incorporated a Filipino unity veil and cord ceremony, after their outdoor wedding ceremony, which symbolises togetherness and two families being joined together. Having their parents wrap them in the veil and cord was such a special moment. Amber & Lorraine had rainbow smoke bombs to show that Love Wins! Luckily, they have enough siblings between them to make the full rainbow with one smoke bomb each! To keep things fun, there was a Sip and Solve Board, which was basically a large crossword with facts about the couple as clues!
This stunning couple live in Hong Kong, which is where they met! However, they are both from the UK and decided to host it here. The key was for the wedding day to be as fun as possible, as they rarely get to see family and friends being so far away. The venue, Lyde Court, lends itself to that relaxed and laid-back vibe, as there are so many cosy spots and something for everyone. Amber & Lorraine’s advice would be to just do a little at a time when it comes to wedding planning. Once you have your date decided, book the big things first - the venue, photographer, videographer, hair, makeup. As the couple live so far away, they decided to hire a wedding coordinator to help and it was such a great decision.
Amber - My favourite moment was our entrance into the wedding breakfast. We had arranged for a tequila shot for each guest and we blasted Man! I Feel Like a Woman! by Shania Twain. Seeing all of our guests taking tequila shots with us and singing along was so much fun.
Lorraine - My favourite moment was the confetti exit. After all the anticipation of the ceremony, it was wonderful to see all of our family and friends in one place, excitedly throwing rainbow confetti into the air and being so genuinely happy for us. It was picture-perfect!
