Holdsworth House Hotel & Restaurant

There aren't enough stars to give to this venue. The seventeenth century stone building enfolds you in a fabulous warm embrace from the moment you enter. Every member of staff made it feel like we were welcome in their happy family home. The building is so full of character, with interesting rooms and decoration which just seem to go on and on. The staff couldn't do enough for us and I can't praise them highly enough for their care and attention to detail. Our rooms were spotless, warm and comfortable. The food was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it. Several of our party had allergy or diet issues, but nothing phased anyone and everyone in our party had plenty of choice, quality, quantity, taste and enjoyment. Again I can't remember anywhere that has catered so well for us. We were lucky enough to have our daughter's wedding in the garden on one of the few sunny days we have had in August 2021 and like everything else, it was immaculate - clean, well cared for with great attention to detail.

The support we had from Holdsworth House was amazing. The day could not have gone better. The team made it so simple. None of our guests could find fault and a lot of have since said it was the best wedding they’ve been to. We wanted a no-stress wedding and that’s exactly what we got.

This venue is just amazing. We fell in love with Holdsworth House the moment we saw it, it is just the most beautiful building and the whole team are so accommodating, helpful and friendly. Nothing was forgotten and no ask was too big, We were treated like royalty and we genuinely can't speak highly enough of the hotel and staff. The restaurant is beautiful and there is a good range of food, including vegetarian options. We also had an afternoon tea, which was delicious and you really do get a huge portion!!! The guest rooms are really lovely and well presented, they had everything we needed. The gardens are beautiful and fantastic for taking wedding photos. In short, we were overwhelmed with our experience, it really did surpass all our expectations and there is nothing at all we could fault. We will certainly be returning for a future anniversary. Thank you so much for making our wedding day so special.

I'd just like to say a special thank you, you were all absolutely amazing and I can not thank you enough. Tracy was absolutely incredible and made me feel at ease when I was at my most anxious..any worries I had for the day she took care of without hesitation and the team went the extra mile. Claire our wedding manager was incredible and extremely organised , keeping us in the loop at every stage of the process. It was the perfect wedding for us and a day we will never forget! Definitely recommend this beautiful place and the staff are a credit to the hotel.

Absolutely perfect…and super dog friendly! Everything about Holdsworth House is wonderful. The building, the rooms, the warm and friendly service and the delicious food. Even more, this is one of the most dog friendly places we’ve been with pooches made to feel so welcome (treats, blankets, bowls…and sausage at breakfast!). You can take dogs into the bar (lovely to relax by the fire) and can also take dinner there - with the dog - which is great. The food is sublime, and the staff are all fabulous. A total treat - thank you!
