Vintage pink bridesmaid dresses, an adorable two-year-old, a beautiful off-the-shoulder gown… we could go on for much longer, but it’s best if you just continue scrolling. Amy and Leo’s big day was officially third time lucky after two postponements. Marrying at the beautiful Micklefield Hall, they opted for an outdoor ceremony, complete with florals complementing the venue's natural beauty. Of course, Recommended Supplier, Poppy Carter Portraits was on hand to ensure their day was perfectly captured. The lack of dancing also didn’t matter, as Sliding Vinyl provided all the vibes needed during their evening reception!

VIBE

Micklefield Hall is the most exquisite setting - with options to marry in the barn or out by the ‘pond’. We chose outdoors and wanted a rustic, relaxed feel. When my Mum got married her bridesmaids also wore pink, which was my choice too. The foliage and flowers were an extension of the beautiful natural vibe of the venue and the bridesmaid's dresses. Many of our guests hadn’t really been to any events for a while due to the pandemic and we wanted a very relaxed, intimate, outdoors day and every inch of Micklefield Hall is breathtaking.

ADVICE

Go with your gut where the budget allows. Keep in good contact with your suppliers any time you are worried about anything. For example, our photographer Poppy is an absolute pro and so experienced in what she does. She also knew the venue very well and helped advise on so many aspects of our day in the run-up. Certainly helped me feel much calmer when it felt like a lot was out of our control due to Covid. Our huge thanks to Micklefield Hall owners, Anna and Jamie Rankin, who were incredibly kind, flexible and accommodating throughout the journey.

We love Amy’s beautifully embroidered veil!

So many favourite moments to choose from! But if we had to choose, it would be the speeches. Father Of The Bride kept guests entertained and emotional in equal measure. But the star of the show was our son Finlay who hijacked the groom’s speech by repeatedly grabbing the mic, holding it up and saying proudly ‘look what I’ve got Daddy!’
