If we were to list the best things about this lesbian wedding at The West Mill in Derby, we could be here a while...Romantic rustic venue? Check. Three aisles? Triple check. Rugby club next door? Erm... we'll have to explain this one. Jasmine and Stephanie met playing rugby so throwing a ball around after the ceremony was the perfect way to catch a moment together after tying the knot! It also made for some pretty unique wedding photos captured by Recommended supplier Twig and Vine Photography. They also chose Recommended supplier Prezola for their gift list, and had some pretty cool family DIY projects including a personalised beer pong table. Consider us inspired! And kinda wishing we'd been invited...
We couldn't decide who would walk down the aisle first. So we decided to opt for three aisles! We walked down two side aisles simultaneously to meet at the front. With all of the emotions, walking at the same pace proved very difficult. Stephanie was slow and elegant. Jasmine was like Usain Bolt! After the ceremony we exited down the middle as wife and wife (at the same speed).

As they're both foodies, the catering was an important aspect of Jasmine and Stephanie's big day at The West Mill Derby. (See personalised aprons they both wore for reference). They named their tables after their favourite meals, with ingredients list and an explanation of why it was important to them. We've taken many things from weddings; incredible memories and hangovers to name a couple... but recipes has to be a first. Jasmine and Stephanie, we applaud your creativity! And the cake. Another wow. Triple tiered, hand painted and decorated with gold leaf, this was a magnificent bake fit for the two gorgeous brides it was celebrating.
Looking for a rustic venue with beautiful surroundings? The West Mill in Derby ticks all the boxes. Fans of rugby, we've got you covered. Fans of exposed brick, gorgeous gardens and drop lighting need also look no further. Jasmine and Stephanie enjoyed all this and more for their day, and decided to use the old cotton mill as inspiration for their styling. They incorporated blueprints of cotton looms in their stationery for a unique and personal touch. The explosions of greenery and decor also brought a warmth to the industrial feel of the mill, and looked pretty damn good too!
We put our families to work! Jasmine's uncle is a joiner and her mum enjoys painting. Together they made a personalised beer pong table and a corn hole for the drinks reception. Stephanie's dad's company created all the stationery which was designed from scratch and completely tailored to us.
