We just had so much fun!!! The fact that the wedding day was on Saturday 21st December meant that most people had finished work for the Christmas break so everyone was already in high spirits. We had an area reserved at a pub in Tetbury by the venue on Friday night and that was a great evening. We also loved the fact that 90 people could stay on-site, this resulted in a great atmosphere on the morning of the wedding as well as the Sunday morning as people departed. We highly recommend a Christmas wedding in the Cotswolds, it was very festive!Kasha & Omar
As it was on the 21st December we went to town on the Christmas decorations. Both our mums organised the decorations and their friends helped and did an incredible job. We hired Christmas trees and placed a massive one up on the balcony in front of where we got married which had not been done before! Upstairs on the balcony for the reception we had a winter wonderland theme, with two further Christmas trees also decorated and placed in the venue... bringing the total to 3 fully dressed Christmas trees!
After the wedding breakfast, we had an hour on the balcony where our singer Tom Wills led a sing-along including Carols and Christmas songs accompanied by mulled wine and mince pies. The carols had hymn sheets so everyone could sing along to the classic hymns and Christmas classics! The balcony was rocking as everyone was jumping and dancing and it was only 7 pm at this point! A great interlude into the evening party.
We chose The Great Tythe Barn as it was a fantastic venue that allowed us to dress the barn as we wished. An example of this is we wanted a 10 foot Christmas tree on the balcony overlooking the hall where we got married, the guys at The Great Tythe Barn were so great, allowing us to try and get the tree up there... it took hours but we managed it! So our advice is to choose your venue wisely to make your day unique.Kasha & Omar
Paul and Reece also had a winter wedding with carol singing and Christmas trees, and Ruth and Conor also chose teal bridesmaid dresses to complement their rustic wedding in Ireland.
