We guarantee that you’ve never seen anything quite like this Preston Court in Kent wedding. There’s a reason that Preston Court is a Recommended Venue! Sophie had previously been a fashion editor and Sonny works in props in the film industry, so when you put these couple’s creative minds together, you know you’ll be getting something magical. The couple had a carnival wedding theme with red sequin midi bridesmaid dresses, bowling pin table centrepieces, and so many personal touches with the bride and groom outfits! Recommended Supplier, Carrie Lavers Photography, is responsible for capturing all the divine details of this day! For entertainment, the couple had Recommended Supplier, Disco Wed to keep the party going!
My sister, Chloe, and I enjoyed planning the wedding so much that we are starting up a wedding creative consultancy service! I have worked in fashion styling and costume for TV and film for many years, so I want to bring this to the wedding industry in a unique way, alongside Chloe's talent for graphic design and creativity. We'd love to help couples get the creative, authentic, personalised weddings they've dreamed of! Watch this space!
Sophie
Sophie & Sonny started by picking their wedding venue, which they instantly fell in love with! The couple have two young kids so the carousel was a hit! Sophie & Sonny chose Preston Court in Kent and wanted to use local suppliers from the area as much as possible. They used Instagram to find suppliers as well as browsing the Rock My Wedding posts, where Sophie spent many an evening looking for inspiration and ideas! Sophie & Sonny wanted their guests to have an amazing time and for it to feel as authentically 'them' as possible. Sophie's favourite colours are pink, red and gold, so that was the inspiration for the styling. The Cath Kidston tea lights inspired the wedding stationery!
The bridesmaids wore red and gold carnival midi sequin dresses from Isolated Heroes. Each dress was individually made for their height and dress size and it matched the wedding colours perfectly! Sophie's main wedding dress isn't sparkly, so she was desperate to have her bridesmaids in sequins! Sophie was a Fashion Editor for 7 years and featured Isolated Heroes in one of her first articles. She has been following them ever since. The pocket squares were cut from Sophie's granny's bedroom curtains, which she always loved growing up. The heart hair clips had Sophie's son's and daughter's initials on them! Sonny works in props in the film industry and has a true love of bowling, so the couple had bowling pins for the centrepieces!
Our favourite moment was actually getting married. We've been together for ten years, and have been through so much already together, including having our two children, so the whole day was just a huge joyful celebration of our love and everything we have achieved in ten years together. Sophie also loved the morning of the wedding, getting ready with her best friends and family who are never all in the same place.
Sophie & Sonny
Sophie & Sonny's colourful carnival wedding is one we won't be forgetting any time soon! Can you blame us for all those stunning sequins and the incredible sleeves on Sophie's Jesus Peiro wedding dress?! Amongst all the personal details on their wedding day, this couple also chose to have Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres as one of their wedding readings.
