Childhood Sweethearts
Leanne & Matt: Me and Matt are childhood sweethearts and we always spoke about getting married from a young age. We wanted a really relaxed day with all our friends and family.
Industrial Wedding Venue The Westmill in Darley Abbey
The venue we picked was
The Westmill in Darley Abbey.
We pretty much decided it was the one as soon as we pulled up in the car park. The building is just stunning and the quirky interior stole our hearts.
Fishtail Allure Bridal Gown
I wanted my dress to be one that definitely stood out. I went for an
Allure Bridals dress which I bought from
Lori G Bridal Studio. I was so worried about finding a dress as I’m only 5ft1 I thought I would really struggle. The service I received from start to finish was incredible!
Bridal Hairstyle
My hair I chose to have it up as I didn’t want my hair to take away anything from my dress. I also had my bridesmaids up in a loose plait as all my bridesmaids had different length hair. My hairdresser did an incredible job of squeezing in seven bridesmaids, my hair and the mother of the brides.
Bridal Makeup
For my make up I wanted something that stood out but not too much which is why I went for a bright red lip.
Afordable Bridesmaid Dresses
The bridesmaid dresses I bought pretty much as soon as we got engaged. I knew what colour scheme I wanted before we even began planning. I bought them at a really affordable from
Sheln
Blue Moss Bros. Grooms Suits
The suits were hired from
Moss Bros and we went for a blue
Ted Baker suit with pink and green ties. The blue really bought out the green bridesmaids dresses.
Greenery Wedding Flowers
The flowers were very kindly done by a friends mum. I didn’t actually want flowers so we decided to go with greenery which again went perfectly with the suits and dresses.
Pink Roll Top Booze Bath Wedding Decor with Copper & Perspex Details
The venue is a really popular one so it was important to us we had props that our guests would remember us for.
We served our alcohol from a large
pink roll top bath.
We also had some copper frames made by Leanne’s brother, a.k.a
Grove Joinery Services.
Hanging inside we had some Perspex signs made with copper wording from the very talented
Megan Cattermole Styling.
For the photos, I wanted to make sure we had some props which we could keep for the memories.
I had a leather jacket which was hand painted with ‘Mrs. S’ and this was made by the incredibly talented
Bee Davies.
We also had some chalkboards made up with a few quotes we felt were appropriate and these were made by
Chalked In Love.
Hexagon Tier Wedding Cake
For the cake, my best friend
Emma gifted us our cake. I was adamant I wanted a hexagon bottom tier and the rest I left up to her because she was also one of my bridesmaids and I knew she would need to do something easy enough to get finished in time. I ended up with three incredible cakes which were a total surprise for us both.
Wedding Photography & Film
Finally, we needed someone to photograph and film our much awaited for big day. I found
Rosie Kelly on Instagram and I booked her pretty much straight away. I loved her style of photography and plus she was really affordable. Equally, I met
Emily at another event and knew she would be perfect to film our big day.
The day was more perfect than we could have ever wished for.
