Owlpen Manor Wedding With Handfasting Ceremony

Photography by Lilly Wilson Photography

This beautiful Owlpen Manor wedding is one of those days that just exudes love… and partying! Amy & Will said their I-do’s during a handfasting ceremony, captured by Recommended Supplier Lilly Wilson Photography. Having their venue for an entire weekend, they were able to curate their perfect day, complete with entertainment from Recommended Supplier, the Wedding Smashers. Being from Denmark, Amy’s mother surprised the gorgeous couple with a traditional ‘Kransekake’, a tower of marzipan biscuits. Their day beautifully encapsulates understated English garden styling, complete with a relaxed feel and plenty of personal touches.

We loved having the venue for the whole weekend with our closest family and friends all staying on site. We had free rein from Owlpen to create the day we wanted with no restrictions. It was amazing!

We wanted the day to reflect us as a couple and to create an environment that allowed our guests to let their hair down. We tried to think about how we wanted to feel and the atmosphere we wanted to create on the day, rather than get too bogged down in the details. It was helpful to think that one else knew what we had planned so it didn’t matter if it didn’t go to plan! We found our suppliers through a combination of recommended venue suppliers and through search platforms.

Amy & Will had a beautiful humanist commitment ceremony which was full of so much life and joy! Siân the celebrant even got everyone doing a Mexican wave during a rendition of Tom Jones' Delilah! The handfasting ceremony was a really meaningful moment too as each of their parents took a turn to bind them together which was lovely.
