If you’ve ever watched Beauty and The Beast and dreamed of that incredible library, then you’ll LOVE Jasmine & Sam’s enchanted library wedding at Signet Library in Edinburgh. Jasmine & Sam are avid gardeners and the blooms they grow at home were the main inspiration for the wedding day. The flowers truly transformed this beautiful library into a fairytale wedding setting. Being Iranian and Scottish, it was important to the couple that their cultures were both reflected throughout the day with a Sofreh Aghd, a ceilidh, and a gorgeous custom wedding dress created by Recommended Supplier, Wilden London. Our Recommended Supplier, Bethany and James, captured this stunning wedding day.
It is fine to do and feel the following: to feel like you don’t want a series of Instagram ‘moments’, to feel overwhelmed if you are an introvert, to feel like you’re going crazy during the planning process, to wish for your algorithm to go back to normal, to not feel like marriage changes everything, to push back if you feel you need to, to not feel like marriage was all you’ve ever dreamed of. Jasmine & Sam
Jasmine & Sam’s wedding day blended their Iranian and Scottish traditions together. The couple married before a Sofreh Aghd while Jasmine wore a couture dress inspired by the Iranian myth of Niloufar embellished with hundreds of pearls, lotus flowers and paisley motifs (gorgeous!) and a Baloch dress in the evening with traditional Suzan Duzi art in the colour of Sam’s tartan. Guests were free to relax, mingle and enjoy the Edinburgh sunshine amidst garden-inspired décor. The evening consisted of a ceilidh and Iranian bandari music. One of Jasmine & Sam’s favourite moments was their ceremony, which was perfectly crafted to bring their cultures, personalities and stories together. Their parents also played a role through readings, which made it that much more personal.
Jasmine & Sam’s wedding at Signet Library was inspired by their love of gardening. They had incredible blooms adorning the venue that actually matched the flowers they grow at home. Such a lovely detail! The couple gasped when they entered the ceremony room and saw all the flowers. The most important thing for Jasmine & Sam was ensuring their guests were relaxed and there weren’t any formal moments where they had to mingle. They could just enjoy the incredible wedding venue and space how they like. For Jasmine, getting the opportunity to work with Wilden London on a dress felt like a creative meeting of minds and was a highlight for her. For Sam, taking moments together alone with Jasmine where they could soak in the day was his highlight.
So many amazing women impacted our wedding. Charlotte of Wilden London, who made my dress and translated a very garbled brief into one of the most memorable, enjoyable and creative experiences of my life. She is a powerhouse and will make you feel beautiful. The team of artisans at Lalin Atelier in Iran, work with Afghan women to preserve ancient crafts. Agnes Koszuk, who took parts of fabric together and brought them to life by making my evening gown. Gemma at Planet Flowers, who indulged our love of greenery and so kindly gifted us Lily of the Valley roots.
