Amy & Stacey’s boho wedding at Bowers Mill is just what we needed. After falling in love with the industrial vibe of Recommended Venue, The Venue Barkisland (Bowers Mill), because of how it perfectly matched their vision of an autumn wedding, Amy & Stacey said their ‘I Do’s’ with their closest loved ones and their two fur babies. The details of this day are everything. The brides both wore long-sleeved boho lace wedding dresses with loose wavy hair and dried flower bouquets (absolute Pinterest perfection)! With plenty of sustainable choices and a budget of under 10k, this day just gets better and better. Alright, we won’t keep you here any longer, let’s get into this beautiful day!
Do what is right for you two, you don't need to do all the cliché formality of a wedding day, It's about celebrating your love with your loved ones. People are happy as long as they're fed and there's a drink!
Amy & Stacey
Amy & Stacey's Bowers Mill wedding had an autumnal relaxed boho vibe. The brides both love hiking in all seasons, but their favourite time of the year is autumn. They love the jewel-toned colour palette of the season and the slightly industrial vibe of Bowers Mill fitted the theme perfectly with stunning original features and flooring. Amy & Stacey used green, burgundy and burnt orange, with lots of vegetation in the decorations featuring one or two pumpkins (obviously!). Amy & Stacey are super laid back and wanted a very relaxed vibe, with no seating plan or speeches during the reception. Instead, they served good vegetarian street food with plenty of time to catch up with their loved ones. The couple knew they wanted a cocktail hour, and had each cocktail reflect some part of their relationship. They added a spin on the name of the cocktails with personalised cocktail toppers. Obsessed!
This stunning couple tried to make their wedding day as sustainable as possible. Amy & Stacey made their own confetti from fallen cherry blossom petals that they dried out themselves. During the reception, the trays, cutlery, and napkins were all recyclable. For favours, the couple opted to donate to local dog charities on behalf of their guests. They left 'in lieu of favours' cards on poppy seed paper that guests could plant. Amy & Stacey wanted to keep their budget as close to 10K as possible, so they kept costs low with plenty of DIY elements. The wedding cake was made by Amy's very talented mum, the band were close friends and the dried flower bouquets were made by one of Stacey's bridesmaids! DIY helped with the pre-wedding stress and meant the couple could enjoy the build-up. Priorities are important with budget weddings and for this couple, a documentary-style photographer was at the top of the list!
We both agreed on the morning after our wedding at Bowers Mill, that our favourite part of the day was the actual ceremony. We decided at the very beginning we wanted two aisles and for us to walk down the aisle at the same time and meet at the front, the venue set this up perfectly for us! It was also extra special that we had both our dogs as flower girls, we couldn't have said "I Do" without our fur babies being a part of the day.
