Ethereal Pastel Wedding at Preston Court

Photography by The Light Painters

Have we potentially saved the best wedding of the year for last? We'll leave that for you to decide. Hanni & Alex tied the knot at Recommended Venue, Preston Court, with a romantic ethereal wedding theme. With moon maidens (instead of bridesmaids), a romantic lilac colour palette, a feather wedding dress from Recommended Supplier, Lovely Bride, and a cloud wedding cake, this day is just so beautiful. Especially, with decor by Recommended Supplier, The Little Wedding Warehouse. The couple truly made their day their own by throwing tradition out the door. They had mixed gender wedding parties, speeches from important women in their lives, DIY decorations, fairground games AND a granny flower girl! This is just what weddings are all about.

We both knew what look and feel we wanted for our wedding day, so we started browsing various wedding blogs like Rock My Wedding to gain an idea of realistic budgets and vendors that were local to our venue, like Little Wedding Warehouse who supplied our tables. I had an issue with my original wedding dress and the ladies at Lovely Bride London stepped in to save the day just 2 months out!

Preston Court Wedding

Hanni & Alex married in the Kent countryside at Preston Court wedding venue in an intimate and magical island ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family. The couple chose the unique venue because of its slightly Hobbit-y feel. It matched their vision completely! The day was filled with so much character and personality! The couple had fairground games from carousels to coconut shies, flower girl grannies, and surprise book favours that alluded to their love of folklore! Hanni & Alex took traditional wedding roles and gave them a little boot out the door. The groom’s party included a best woman and groomsmen while the bride had two best men and moon maidens.

Ethereal Pastel Wedding Theme

The styling consisted of a romantic pastel palette and mixed-in neutrals to keep everything contemporary. Tumbling floral arrangements and arches decorated the venue and added a whimsical feel to the pastel theme wedding decor and venue. There were plenty of moons and lilac tableware for an ethereal vibe. What made Hanni & Alex’s wedding day so special to them was getting close friends and family involved in DIY! The banners, tablecloths, illustrated invitations, and embroidered napkins were all handmade. What incredible wedding keepsakes! As the couple are both vegetarian and a fair few of their friends and family are vegan, they decided to have a completely plant-based menu

Our favourite part of the day was our lantern parade. It felt so magical walking into the party barn with all our friends and family to have our first dance, lit by glowing lanterns. Another of our favourite moments was having my nana as a flower granny! Traditional roles were swept aside with speeches by important women in our lives whilst our friends made up the majority of the special roles throughout the day.
