Victoria & Luke’s Hampton Court House wedding was a day to remember with most of their guests saying that it felt more like a gig than a wedding! Now that sounds like our kind of vibe! Music played an incredibly important part in Victoria & Luke’s day with multiple moving and powerful performances from their close friends. For styling, the couple made the most of the autumn season with a warm colour palette! The couple chose their bridesmaid dresses from Recommended Supplier, Rewritten Bridesmaids, as well as their stationery from Recommended Supplier, Papier. For hair and makeup the lovely Recommended Supplier, Bridesmade Artistry, was on hand! Last, but certainly not least, the couple chose Recommended Supplier, Prezola, for their wedding gift list.
Victoria: My favourite moment was walking into the ceremony and seeing all our friends and family in one place for the first time. Seeing Luke at the end of the aisle is a moment I will never forget. The love and joy that filled the room was incredible, my face hurt from smiling so much!
Luke: There are so many moments to choose from, but one that I thought was pretty unique was when our friend, Nick (a professional singer), surprised us with a rendition of ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder in the middle of the dance floor! Everyone went crazy for him, his voice is ridiculous!
Victoria & Luke
Victoria & Luke always wanted to get married in London, which is where the couple met, but they also still wanted that chilled countryside vibe. Hampton Court House was the perfect wedding venue choice that combined exactly what the couple wanted. The grand old style of the house, the rich, regal history of the area, as well as the fact it backs onto the beautiful Bushy Park, is what swayed the couple. Styling-wise, Victoria & Luke decided on an autumnal vibe with beautiful flowers from Recommended Supplier, My Table Floral Design, not only because it’s their favourite time of year but also because the warm copper and gold colour scheme emphasised that cosy yet ornate feel.
When asked to describe the vibe of their wedding day, Victoria & Luke said it was a ‘boujee knees-up’ Although everyone was dressed up and feeling fancy, they could relax, let their hair down and kick their shoes off to boogie at the end of the day. Music was really important to this couple as they met when they were performing! With traditional hymns at their church ceremony, including the Song of Solomon 2:8-17 as their wedding reading, an acoustic cover of ‘Rhiannon’ by Fleetwood Mac by their brilliant friends, and a piano interlude performed by another friend during the reception drinks! Their wedding band stole the show with an incredible setlist. Friends and family said it felt more like a gig rather than a wedding!
Try to enjoy the lead-up, inevitably there may be some stress and the planning can feel overwhelming, but that period is half the fun! Looking back, so many of our cherished memories together and with loved ones are from the build-up as well as the actual wedding weekend itself, which really does fly by! Also, doing as much of the planning together as possible was special and meant we were both super invested in the day. It was so lovely to see both of our hard work as a couple come together.
