confetti moment for bride and groom

Polytunnel Greenhouse Weddng Ceremony

Photography by Holly Collings Photography

A polytunnel greenhouse wedding ceremony, a wedding breakfast in a glass house, and a late-night dance party in the huts. Now that’s just perfection! Of course, all of this could happen at one venue, and one venue only. Leah & Tom married at Anran in Devon (one of the most stunning and versatile venues)! With Irish and Nigerian heritages as well as Jewish faith, this day was all about celebrating love and having fun! Forget gooey romance and strict wedding traditions, Leah & Tom had music, food, cocktails, and party vibes to make sure everyone had a great time. We’re having the best time writing about this wedding because it feels like we’re there! The joy from this couple is contagious! Leah & Tom had Recommended supplier, The Wedding Shop, for their gift list.

We planned and completed the whole wedding within four months! So, with finding suppliers, we went straight to people we knew whose weddings we had really enjoyed or had a similar vibe to what we wanted. The limited time did affect some of the choices we could make (a lot of dress designers have long lead times), but we found this just focused us more.

Polytunnel Greenhouse Ceremony

Leah & Tom didn't have a specific theme for the day, they just wanted something that felt relaxed but luxurious. They prioritised live music, cocktails and canapés rather than flowers or a huge wedding cake. For Leah & Tom, fun and friendship meant more than sentimental details. That being said, there were plenty of emotional speeches and personal readings from friends and family. The couple chose to have their ceremony at the polytunnel greenhouse at Anran, which was full of tropical plants and a fish pond! After, Leah & Tom had their wedding breakfast in the glass house and reception in the huts. Anran is just full of stunning backdrops!

Wedding Traditions

Tom is half Irish, and Leah is half Nigerian and Jewish, so there was a lot to get in the day in terms of heritage! Leah & Tom had a quick engagement, and due to covid, they didn't want to get caught up in any planning drama and make the process any longer than they needed to. The couple have some advice, they wanted to share! They recommend trying to think of the things you remember from other people's weddings and what made you feel good. Based on this, Leah & Tom knew it was the overall experience they wanted to focus on. For this couple, it was all about that cheeky extra cocktail or wedding speeches that make you cry rather than things like table centrepieces.

The drinks reception straight after the ceremony was really special. It was a sunny, windy, crisp March day. We had firepits roaring, everyone wrapped up with sunglasses on, the Irish trad band playing their fiddles and everyone with a glass of either champagne or Guinness (or both!) in hand. Everyone was on such a high and we loved watching everyone laughing and hugging in their groups.
